My students are the center of my classroom. They are what is important. Because this is the case, why shouldn't my classroom reflect this? Teaching is about adapting, therefore, the physical classroom environment must also adapt to fit the needs of my students. I aim for high motivation and even higher engagement each day. This isn't possible if my classroom looks the same now as it did 80 years ago. When was the last time you had to sit in rows of desks and chairs all day long? This doesn't promote collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, or even creativity. Flexible seating like wobble chairs, wobble cushions and a table will help them throughout the school year. In order to prepare my students for their future, they will utilize these game changing supplies daily to learn how to make choices, work in groups, think critically, problem solve on their own, and be creative, all while having the ability to remain focused and on task.
