  • Help we NEED Chromebook MICE!

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

Today computers have become an essential life skill for students of all ages. Students must navigate through basic computer programs. Using computers is a fundamental requirement for student success. Therefore, children must learn to use a computer mouse, even at a young age.

Using a mouse can also help students learn by allowing them to interact with digital content more precisely helping them navigate computer programs, select items, drag and drop objects, and perform various tasks with greater ease.

Therefore, using a mouse is important for children because it helps them develop fine motor skills. When students use a mouse, it helps control the movement of their hands and fingers as they navigate programs. Studies have shown that using a mouse helps to strengthen the muscles in their hands and fingers while at the same time improving their hand-eye coordination.

We appreciate your generous donation and want to give you a HUGE thank you!”

  • Moving Along with Reading on a Mobile Literacy Cart!

    Funded Sep 12, 2024

My students use the mobile book cart to choose books for independent and buddy reading and when participating in literature circle groups. This cart makes it more inviting, organized, and easy for students to choose the books they like to read for literature circles. Literature circle is a shared reading activity where students choose chapter books of interest to read and discuss as a small group.

My students really like this cart because it is new and much larger than our old one. Our old mobile cart was busting out the seems and finally, one wheel gave way. We had to prop our book cart with a block which made it stationary. We were so sad about our broken cart but now we are happily moving along with our independent and shared reading groups.”

  • LiveUp Our Reading Skillz

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

My students really enjoy listening to and reading all of the literacy mentor texts on grammar, parts of speech, vocabulary, and sentence structures. These books were a great way to introduce grammar and vocabulary to my students. Next, my students really enjoyed working together in small groups practicing these strategies using CVC and sentence flip cards to help decode CVC and CVVC words and we used the flip cards to form and write complete sentences. Also, during our free time, my students enjoy working in small groups playing synonym/antonyms splat, and matching games. These wonderful activities really help my students retain what they have learned. We have seen a big improvement in both their reading and writing. So, once again I just want to say a HUGE thank you so much!”

  • Making Our Marks in Living Color

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you for your kind and generous gift to Goodrich Elementary School. Your wonderful donations of dry-erase markers, folders, and notebooks are great resource materials to have so that our students are able to store, record, track, and evaluate their words and progress. The notebooks and folders have helped our students be more organized and responsible. The best thing is the students used all of the basic resources that are printed on the folder to help them with their homework, especially in math. These resources are wonderful because it is the glue to help students be more responsible and secure in their learning. Thanks to generous donors like you, our students are more organized and in tune with their learning and progress. Warm regards, Ms. Swan, Reading Teacher”

  • Razzle Up Our Reading

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

We would like to truly thank you! Our students and parents were excited about receiving these resources. We are using the interactive phonic books during our tier 2 reading intervention groups. With teacher-led support, the students work in small groups to complete the phonic activities. Once the students have fully completed their phonic and other daily oral language activity books, the books will go home with them during the summer so they can use the books for reinforcement. These activity books have been awesome because they have helped increase their decoding, comprehension, spelling, and writing skills. Thank you again for helping my K5-2nd grade students become secure and confident readers. Having all of the rich phonic resources has been very essential for my students in the area of literacy.”

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you for your kind and generous gift to Goodrich Elementary School. Your wonderful donation will provide sight word activities for our students. I am so thankful because these resources will help our students learn and retain K-3 grade sight words. Learning sight words are wonderful because it is the glue to help students be more fluent when reading. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it continues to be a challenge to close the literacy gap but thanks to generous donors like you, I believe we will rise above the challenge with these fun and engaging literacy resources. Thank you again for your donation.”

  • The LIT Literacy Classroom Library

    Funded Apr 1, 2021

My students and I would like to thank you for your generous gift of enhancing our Lit Literacy Classroom Library. We love our new edition of books that we have added to our classroom collection. The students are able to freely choose books of their interest from the literacy sets. The wonderful gift is that the literacy text level books sets are multiple level readers. This has been great for my students who are all reading at different levels. My students are able to choose and read books from the bins based on their interests and reading levels. They really like having the option of freely choosing multiple books to read which creates a non-threatening reading environment for them. Thank you so much!”

  • Slide Forward N2 Summer Learning

    Funded Jun 17, 2021

MY students, parents, staff, and I would like to thank all of our supportive donors for your generous donations to help support continuous learning not only throughout the summer but during the school year. Believe it or not, many of our students are still working on completing their summer bridge activity workbooks. Our parents were especially excited and very thankful about receiving the books. Before the school year ended many teachers and parents inquired about receiving these books once again for their children, but we were not able to supply all of the requests. However, with all of the generous support, you all made it possible for us to supply many of our struggling students with additional supportive resources. We are so grateful and thankful for our generous supporters. Thank you so much!”

This project will help my students as they take bi-weekly assessments on the chrome books, listening center, recording and listening to their reading, and they will be able to work on educational activities and programs that are personalized for each one of their individualized learning paths. This project will make a big difference. My students will be able to really focus and concentrate on specific strategies and or educational activities without interruptions from others. My students struggle with reading. Therefore, the head phones will help them to concentrate as they work independently while doing practice activities at their work stations.
