Funded Jan 31, 2012I would like to begin by apologizing for not having thanked you in a timely manner.
It has been many years since you supported my project, but I want you to know that my students appreciated your gift. They were able to document their memories of their final year at our school.
All my students created scrapbooks that featured the photographs that they each took of family and friends. At that time many of my students did not have access to cell phones as they do now and having a camera proved to be essential for this project. They used the cameras on a rotational basis and learned to do simple editing.
In addition, they learned to view photography as a form of art. They were inspired to do research on photography artists. Many spoke of their desire to learn more about photography. Their engagement in this topic motivated them to read, which isn't always an easy thing to accomplish. I hope to continue to spark students' interests with the help of people like you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Cano
