  • Queens Academy Student Garden Shed

    Funded Jun 23, 2019

Thank you so much for your quick and generous donations. I often hear people say things like “kids should be taught job skills in school” and “why don’t kids get any financial literacy training in school?” Your donations will help us do exactly those things and give at risk students the opportunities they need and deserve.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Carillo

  • Queens Academy Building Trades Initiative

    Funded Nov 9, 2018

Your donation for the tools for the cte program helped over 70 of our students earn a regents credit this year. These children were unsuccessful in their many attempts at the regents exam and taking this class with the tools you helped donate helped them earn their credit.

These same tools will be used in the following years to help even more students accomplish their goals and graduate high school with career relevant skills.

Keep a look out for more projects being done by our school with the help of your generosity.

Thank you all so much we love and appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Carillo

  • Academy Building Trades Program

    Funded Nov 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations! We started the first donations page thinking it would take very long to reach our goal. We raised over $2000 in just 2 weeks. These last few items will be added to the others to create a fully modern and complete learning environment for our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Carillo

With the items listed, Q.A. can start a building trades program. Most of our students have left other schools in search of a place in which they can learn the skills they need to succeed in today's highly competitive job market. Without learning marketable skills, these young people will go into the world of work without the ability to provide for themselves, forcing them to depend on the system for assistance. These tools (Safety Glasses, Wrench Set, Cordless Impact Driver, Portable Table Saw, Chop Saw, and other tools) will be the basis of the students' learning experiences together with classroom discussions directed by a certified building trades teacher. They will receive both educational theory instruction as well as hands on experience.
