Desks for Distancing!
Funded Nov 13, 2021Thank you for the desks! We LOVE them! They have made a huge difference in our lives.
We are so grateful that we actually have desks for every child! Our old tables didn't have enough space for all of us. We had to put our belongings in bins on the floor. It was a mess! The new desks have drawers where we can neatly put our belongings away.
They look so pretty in our classroom. They are fancy and make our room look more spacious! They make so much more space in the classroom. We can now walk through the classroom and also stay socially distanced.
Thank you for making our classroom safer and prettier!
We appreciate you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. T.

This classroom project was brought to life by #TeachHealthy with Nature Made and 13 other donors.Planning With Planners!
Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for our planners! We love them! Now everyone has the same book to record and keep track of homework assignments.
When the children first saw them they were so excited! They thought they were so "beautiful and magnificent!" They love the picture on the cover and the fancy bookmark to keep track of where they are in the calendar.
One student said she was "amazed and satisfied with the stickers and the organization, (she) couldn't ask for a better planner."
They were so surprised that the book is so much more than a planner. It is filled with helpful information that they can use to help them study. For many students, this is their first experience keeping a calendar to stay organized. This is a very useful life skill!
As a teacher, I appreciate the planners more than you know! I use them as a way to communicate with families. I sign their planners each afternoon and their parents sign them when their children finish their assignments. If a parent needs to send me a message, the planner is the perfect place to drop a quick note.
I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Stay well!”

Ms. T.
Sign Me Up!
Funded Oct 7, 2016I can't begin to thank you for these handwriting books. They have changed my students' attitudes towards handwriting!
We start our Language Arts period each morning with 15 minutes of handwriting. Lessons are started with letter dictation, where I call out a letter and the students practice writing it. I call out letters, letter combinations and words. They love this part of the lesson! Next, we move on to learning how to form the letter of the day. We practice "skywriting" the letters with our fingers in order to get the kinesthetic down, before we actually put pencil to paper. This is always fun!
Since starting to teach cursive, I have seen a marked improvement in handwriting. I am also getting compliments from other staff members about the practice of teaching cursive in my classroom. This is something that hasn't been done in public schools in some time. I am so grateful, to have the tools to help my children practice something that was becoming a lost art! Before they know it, they will all be able to sign their names! That will be an exciting day for sure!”

Erase Away the Problems of the Day
Funded Feb 1, 2016Thank you for the wonderful gift! We love the markers and use them every day! We write our math "problems of the day" on our white boards. After a quick answer check, we erase and move on. This helps to manage daily assessments in a very efficient manner.
The children love the markers. They were so excited when the boxes arrived and there were so many fabulous colors. They now keep them in their table bins, ready to use throughout the day.
Using these markers have also helped us to have a greener classroom. We are always looking for ways to keep a green classroom. Using the boards and markers helps us to save paper and other supplies.
We are truly grateful for all of your support and hope that you will continue to stay involved in our classroom endeavors.”

Color Our Writing!
Funded Nov 20, 2014I can't express my gratitude enough for supporting my Donors Choose project. The pens arrived in my classroom and my children were elated. They could not wait to start using them!
We are implementing a new writing program that uses different colors to organize thinking. Each child was asked to choose three colors. They used a pencil to create an introductory sentence. Then the first color was used to write the first supporting detail and text evidence. Then another color was used for the next detail and so on. The concluding sentence was written in pencil. When the paragraph was completed, the child was clearly able to see if they had included all of the necessary parts of their paragraph.
There has already been a marked improvement in their writing organization. Being able to clearly see each detail, they are making sure that they are including all of the required parts of each paragraph, helping them to become better writers.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
With gratitude,
Ms. T.
