My students live in poverty. I have the students who are quiet and eager to learn; boys who can sit, be quiet, and have no interest in learning, and many english language learners. My class is indicative of our school's population. Our school is very large and bursting at the seams with 850+ students, with a large percentage being Hispanic. Our staff includes teachers just beginning their careers to those with 25+ years of teaching. We also have teach for America teacher in our building every year in almost every grade. The best thing about our staff is we support each other and each others students. We have a sense of family and that is reflected in many of our students.
