  • More Materials Please!

    Funded Nov 17, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting this project! The colored paper has helped us keep track of the weekly material sent home and the ink has made those letters and hand-outs possible! The waterbeads were a HUGE hit to say the least! Students have loved exploring with them and strengthening their fine motor skills with various tools. The My Map book helped us brainstorm maps of our hearts, homes, and communities and will help inspire students for years to come! Thank you again for supporting public school classrooms like ours!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Reading W/ Raz-Kids!

    Funded Oct 14, 2020

The impact that Raz Kids has had on our class has been wonderful! Raz Kids has been a constant source of leveled readers for students to utilize whether they are in person learning or remotely learning. The books help students improve their reading and listening skills. Additionally, Raz Kids get them excited with points and Avatar characters! Who doesn't love an Avatar with silly items to reinforce their want and need to read more on level texts?!

Thank you again for supporting public school classrooms like ours!”

  • The BUZZ- Bees are Endangered!!

    Funded Oct 30, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting the project: "The Buzz- Bees are Endangered!!!". Though my students and I were very much looking forward to visiting the City Growers rooftop bee garden, our school year was abruptly interrupted by the pandemic.

I was able to carry out this project with my current students via Zoom and they were delighted to experience a "virtual field trip". They discussed where food comes from, saw the CityGrowers farm, watched live worm footage, learned about the importance of bees is our ecosystem, and met the chickens that reside at the farm as well.

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Back to Basics!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Wow! I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and willingness to support projects during a pandemic!

The sheet protectors have come in handy when hanging papers that crumble after disinfectant is sprayed in the evenings at school. They make it possible to showcase student work in a fun and protective way!

The dry erase markers are have made a huge impact when it comes to dictating sounds and words for students to practice. Additionally, it has made handwriting practice possible--while saving trees and paper!

Lastly, the storage bins have allowed us to continue having choice time, in a safe and structured way. Thank you again!!!”

  • Help for Hybrid!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

From one yogi to another--thank you! This project has brought so much joy and comfort to our classroom. The yoga mats have made our classroom space and reading so much more flexible and fun. Students love snuggling up to a new book on their mat.

The postcards will used for students to connect over school breaks, with the classmates while they are apart. I know they are going to be ecstatic to receive a postcard in the mail from their classmate!

Lastly, the dot name cards have helped students master the art of writing their name in with lowercase letters (aside from the first)!

    Thank you again!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

Thank you for supporting our Back to School Supplies project! These materials have helped make an unpredictable year smooth and possible!!

Students have loved using the Flair Pens to write and illustrate pictures for monthly self portraits, math equations and number bonds, and personal narrative stories. They also used them to illustrate the maps of their hearts.

The notebooks have made a huge impact on students poetry and visualization skills. They have brought routine and ease to our shifting schedule.

  • Non-Fiction for Fun!

    Funded Feb 10, 2020

Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping to fund a set of non-fiction writing resources for our class. These books, such as "Guess Who" provided an example of a way to teach your readers about a non-fiction topic in a funny and engaging way! We had a blast with using the structures these books provided.

To give you an inside look an example of what kind of non-fiction writing this facilitated here is an example:

"Who can laye eggs? A alien? The good egg? A pes of toast? A bilding? No! A chicken! After 21 days the egg will hatch."

Thank you again for supporting public school classrooms like ours!”

  • Chicken Big Class Set

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

Thank you for supporting this project and making reading materials more accessible and diverse for the students in my classroom! These books will serve as both a way to spark learning and a token of the beloved memories we made while incubating + raising newborn chickens--that we would later find out were roosters! We are so grateful for your generosity and support. It is both a silly book and a great resource for teaching creative writing and embedding various text features into a funny, light-hearted story. Thank you again!!”
