  • Back for Books: Part 2—Young Graphic Novels!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for supporting our graphic novel project! These silly and engaging books have been a huge hit in our classroom! Students love exploring this style of writing and has created excitement about other graphic novel authors and series!

We are so grateful for your support of public school classrooms like ours and cannot thank you enough for making graphic novels in our first grade classroom a possibility! These books have been loved and explored by all levels of readers in our class and that is a beautiful thing!

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • PRIDE Project

    Funded Jun 27, 2021

Thank you SO much for supporting our Pride Project! My students very much enjoyed learning about the history of PRIDE month--Harvey Milk, Gilbert Baker and the Rainbow Flag, the Stonewall Inn, and the fight for equal rights for LGBTQ+ members of our communities and families.

These books not only supported the learning of students this school year, but will continue to support conversations, advocacy and awareness for students in years to come.

The tie dye socks were a hit too! We were so excited to rinse them, dry them, and share our creations with our families. Now, students feel knowledgable about the colors behind the rainbow flag and the importance of people in our communities having equal rights when it comes to love and identity. They will wear their socks proudly knowing all are welcome!

    Love wins!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Bright New Books = Bright Big Smiles!

    Funded Jan 15, 2021

Thank you very much for supporting our project, Bright New Books = Bright Big Smiles! These books brought a great deal of joy and laughter to our classroom! My students still frequent the Jory John and Pete Oswald basket of The Cool Bean, The Bad Seed and the Good Egg! Additionally, Saturday and Thank You, Omu! helped us during our book review unit, supporting our work of sharing our thoughts on books with others and rating them as well!

Thank you again for supporting public school classrooms like ours, we are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

  • Crazy for Chickens!

    Funded Feb 9, 2021

Cock-a-doodle-doo! By that we mean, thanks SO much for making our chicken project possible!

I think this unit, this year especially, has been a sweet reminder of the excitement and joy that learning can bring to our lives! We were lucky enough to have 8... yes 8 chicks hatch and join our classroom community! Students have studied the ins and outs of chickens and have loved writing, reading, and even listening to chicken sounds (on YouTube + in person) and stories (in person)!

Thank you again from the bottom of our chick loving hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card!

    Funded Mar 4, 2021

Thank you SO much for supporting this project--Teachers Pay Teachers Giftcard. As an in-person teacher trying to juggle the challenges of in-person teaching and remote off screen academic activities this project has really made it possible to continue to support my students in work they can do fairly independently when they are on a "remote" school day. Writing prompts, phonics pages, remote school games--you name it, this project has really helped me boost engagement for my students, while reinforcing our academic content!

    Thank you again!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Brooklyn Is Best!

    Funded Jan 14, 2021

Thank you SO much for making our Brooklyn is Best project come to life! My students and I really loved becoming Brooklyn Bridge experts--so much so that they share a detailed memory with me every time they've crossed the bridge since starting our study!

This project also allowed us to expand our choice time center options--such as dot art and magnet making using wooden pieces, sharpies, and magnets! Both centers were a huge hit and get students excited about the independent choices they can make during that time.

Thank you again for your support, we truly appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Something Special Items!

    Funded Feb 16, 2021

A huge thank you goes to you all for making this Something Special project possible! My students and I have come to love these little surprise creation bags on Monday's when our class learns remotely, and now we have even more reason to get pumped for our Monday afternoons! So far we have only revealed the dinosaur key chains, but I know the stress ball items and mask making will also be a huge hit with my creative, caring, and curious group of first grade students. Thank you again for supporting public school classrooms like ours!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

  • Clean as Clean Can Be!

    Funded Feb 24, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting this project--Clean as Clean Can Be! This school year has been challenging and rewarding, and we could not have made it possible without all the disinfecting products and wipes. I am eternally grateful for your support with this project because it allows myself and my students to continually clean and keep our classroom as safe and clean as we possibly can! Additionally, this project has inspired my students to get excited about taking ownership of their space and materials, by frequently making sure they are sanitized and ready for others to use after them! Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah

Thank you SO much for supporting our Friday Night Wrestlefest project! My students really loved this silly book during our family unit it reminded us that families can be silly, sweet and fun all at the same time! This project allowed each of them to add this book to their home libraries and share the story with their siblings and family members. Thank you for the support of public school classrooms like ours & bringing projects like Friday Night Wrestlefest to life! We are so grateful for your support & generosity!!”

  • Building Remote Community!!

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Thank you SO much for supporting this project! These stamps and cards have been used to kick off our pen-pal project in our hybrid class of two cohorts!! Students were overjoyed to hear they would be writing actual letters in the mail, and I cannot wait to see them build new friendships and improve their writing skills along the way! We are so grateful for your generosity and support--especially during this difficult and eye-opening year! Thank you thank you too, for supporting public school classrooms like ours!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hannah
