  • Boost Our 2nd Graders' Fun and Learning: Supply the Smiles!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

This means the world to me. These materials will be highly appreciated and used well by my students. Thank you so very much for funding this project before the school year starts with the students, so I have time to get everything set up for their arrival next week. Hooray!”

  • Home Sweet Classroom!

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

We've been using the resources wisely and properly. Play dough, bingo chips, dice, markers, privacy shields, binders, storage bins, pretend clocks, sugar cubes, cookies, chips, papers, notebooks, all of them are very valuable to the classroom.

My students were very happy and eager to use the materials when they first saw it. We had to establish some rules as to keeping everything like new.

My students are going to keep using the materials in a very directed and guided way to improve their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bispo

  • You Sound So Good!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

We've been using the resources wisely and properly. The microphones arrived safely and we're working on installing them in our sound system with a specialist. He was very happy to see the new mics and that we're going to solve the sound issue.

  • Sci-Five !

    Funded May 25, 2023

We've been using the resources wisely and properly. Play dough helps a lot with sensory seekers and they can build many things. The binders work wonderfully for keeping their writing projects in place and easy to find for future reference and see how they got better at it.

  • And I Am A Material... Teacher!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

New colored pencils, crayons, washable markers, pencils, paint, scissors, glue sticks, expo markers, playdough, magnetic building blocks, counting chips... I'm so blessed to have all of these in my classroom now, and so are my students.

Our classroom now looks and is fully stacked with everything we need and more. We won't be needing a lot of things for a good while. Students are taking care of them and using them accordingly.

Everytime we have a project that requires one of those materials listed, students are eager to use them properly.”

    With gratitude,

  • Sounds Good!

    Funded Feb 15, 2023

I wrote this project in order to have new headphones with microphones for my students. The goal was to have better sound in their recordings on various platforms that I could easily check how their reading/speaking of the Portuguese language was going and share it with their families.

It was very successful. Students loved the bright colors of their new headphones, they loved the quality of their recordings and are more confident in speaking on their video/audio recordings since they don't have to speak louder to have their voices picked up by the computer.”

  • A World of Possibilities

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

When students have new books to read and easy access to them, they blossom and develop even more. The way I see it is when we see a new story that's well printed and is eye-catching, students tend to grab that book faster and with more interest in reading what the story is about, deciphering the letters and the words to come up with answers to questions about what they read.

My students always read in my classroom, in various ways. Whole group, individuals, in pairs, sharing answers for questions on the story, drawing about the story, writing about parts of the book they liked the most, and so on. We use different places in the classroom for that: the rug, the differentiated seating, their own chairs or even outside when it's warm and we have shade.

I can say that project being funded was a great way to introduce reading in a fun way to my classroom.”

  • Starting Fresh

    Funded Aug 22, 2022

I named the project starting fresh because I really needed a fresh start in my classroom. I have used lended or borrowed or even rests of materials from previous teachers for two years. My classroom didn't look like me or my students at all. I needed to have my face and my likes in the classroom, so it would reflect me and my practices.

As soon as these new materials arrived, I started working on my new classroom layout. I made new posters, new flashcards, new word walls, and spent a long time setting it all up.

When the students came into the classroom when everything was new, they felt loved, welcomed and important. I did it all for them and they could tell.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bispo

The decoration in the classroom helps the children familiarize better with the subjects they're learning, as well as organizing mentally and visually the activities of the day. The decorative items will be used on that matter. The manipulative letters will be used to make the students aware of word compositions and for them to create new sentences as they are in the process of learning how to read and speak in Portuguese. The other supplies are for writing and coloring, since we make tons of activities exploring the language, and arts and crafts help a lot on those particular issues. Some students need to focus better on their learning and are sometimes too active; the rubber bands for their chairs are supposed to make them focus on their learning targets and receive more information and, in the middle, more knowledge.
