  • Special Education End of Year Project

    Funded Feb 19, 2019

I cannot believe we funded this so fast! My students will be over the moon to hear they have such a fun end of the year project to work on, and a keepsake that they can take with them once they leave RHS! Thank you for your continued support of our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Love

  • Special Education Students Need a Color Printer!

    Funded Oct 31, 2018

Thanks to you, we have a wonderful working printer in our classroom that will last for years to come. Special education students benefit greatly from colored visuals to help them on a daily basis. Because of the generous donations from so many, our students can have color visuals as soon as they need them without waiting. These can include their daily schedules, behavior charts, posters, and more. My students are most excited about having the ability to create and print their own visual schedules within the classroom, without relying on using a home printer or going to the public library. I even have particular students that want to be in charge of doing the printing, help clean the printer, and making sure it has enough ink for the print jobs being sent to it. It's a great vocational skill for students to practice within the classroom, and it reminds them daily of the generosity that others have. Teachers are also very grateful, as this is saving them from using their own color ink from home in order to create projects for the students. This is such a valuable asset that is becoming more valuable each day, and our entire department is forever grateful for your compassion and kindness in our time of need.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Love

Our special education team is incredible at making and providing individualized visual support! However, we currently have no access to a colored printer within our school, and we do not have it in our department budget to purchase one. Historically, our special education staff pay for and print our materials at home, or go to the public library in the evenings. I'm requesting a Lexmark Printer specifically because this is the only color printer that works for our classroom that is on the list of "district approved technology". We would greatly appreciate this donation to help support these students, and this printer would stay within our department and help these students for years to come.
