  • Fresh Boards for Fresh Projects

    Funded Jan 22, 2025

Thank you so much for your support of our school and our students. We are so incredibly grateful for your donations to fund our project! The science boards arrived and they are perfect. We can't wait to see the great science projects that our students create. Our teachers are also very appreciative because having fresh boards will save them so much time. They have been wrapping old boards with butcher paper for far too long! They are excited for these new boards and know having them will make things run smoother when they are prepping for the Science Fair.

Again, thank you so much for your donations. It is amazing to know that there are people out there who support public education and want to help provide the best experiences for students and for teachers!”

  • Super Supplies for Super Students!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to our after school program!! You are so appreciated!! The snacks and supplies have helped our program get off to a fantastic start!! Last semester, we had math and reading groups for first, third, and fourth graders, along with enrichment groups for crochet, poetry/oral reading, and a Bluebonnet Book Club! This semester, we have math and reading tutoring for second, third, and fifth graders, along with enrichment groups for coding, web design, volleyball, art, and even a podcast team! It's been so wonderful to be able to offer these opportunities to our students. Thank you again for your support of not only us, but of public education! We need all the support we can get. Thank you!”

  • Small Group Resources for All!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations and your support of public education! I truly appreciate it!! I was so excited to receive all the magnetic letter kits and cookie sheets, and was able to share with teachers right away! I worked with a first grade teacher and a second grade teacher to get a set of sheets ready with letters for their small groups. Teachers use these every day to practice phonics patterns to help their students with their reading skills. It is so important for kids to be able to touch and manipulate the letters, which translates to being able to think and manipulate the sounds in their heads too! I also loved being able to share the book A Sweet New Year for Ren with our classrooms. We have a Vietnamese bilingual population at our school and it was the perfect book to read during our Tet celebrations! Thank you again for your support! Teachers and students and learning and growing because of you- THANK YOU!”

  • Books for My Book Lovers!

    Funded Oct 19, 2022

Thank you SO MUCH for your donations in support of our classroom! I was so excited to be able to gift each of my students with a book, and that was only because of your generosity. My students loved reading their books and were so happy to get to take them home over winter break. Many of them were taking long trips to Vietnam to visit family and they told me they would bring their books on their trips! I was able to purchase one book for every student, along with an extra to pit in our school wide lending library! So many students will enjoy these books for years to come! Thank you so much for your support of me, my students, and public education!”

  • A Boost of Books!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations, you are greatly, greatly appreciated!! At a time when teachers do not feel supported by politicians or the media, it feels wonderful to have your support.

Your donations made it possible for the purchase of high quality professional development books for some amazing teachers in Texas! I have already set up a lending library in our teacher work room where they can check out these books to further their learning! Each of these books supports the research that has been done over several decades on how we learn to read and what is actually going on inside our brains as we learn to decode words, as well as research about the best ways to incorporate writing into all subject areas. These books will be such a great resource for us to have on campus! One of our Kindergarten teachers has already checked out one of the phonics books! We will also put the laminating pouches to good use in the new year, lots of literacy and math activities to make for our students to use!

Again, thank you so much for your support. These past few years have not been easy on educators and it feels nice to know that there are people out there who support public education. THANK YOU!”

  • Clean and Comfy Classroom!

    Funded Aug 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom! My students were SO excited to receive the floor pillows!! They use them every day now in our room. Each table gets a day to use them and we rotate throughout the week. They use them during math time and ELA time, whether they are reading a book, working on their Chromebooks, or writing with a clip board. I do think it is important for students to have choice in how they learn and work, so the option to sit with the pillow is a great alternative to always being in their desks. We also appreciate the cleaning wipes and use those every day, too. We eat breakfast in our room every day so it is nice to start the day with clean desks after we eat. Thank you again for your donations, you are greatly appreciated. Know that your support means a lot and I hope you will continue to support public education. If you know a teacher or if your child is currently is in school, please take good care of that teacher!”

  • Mindfulness Matters!

    Funded Sep 17, 2018

Thank you all so much for donating to our classroom. The Peace Corner has been a great addition to our room. The students loved all of the books and calming activities as soon as they saw them! We went through them all and talked about how to use them while in the Peace Corner. We read the books together and talked about other strategies for calming and refocusing ourselves for learning. Since then, the Peace Corner has been used every single day! I can tell that it really gives my students something to think about as they clear their minds of anything that is making them feel angry or upset. I sometimes ask students to visit the Peace Corner when I can see they are distracted by something, but most often it is the students asking to go there themselves. Some of my students like to go there even when they aren't feeling angry- it's just a great spot in our classroom to take a break when needed! They really like the squishy stress balls and the bubble timers. I am certain that this will continue to be used all year long and for years to come. Thank you so much!! Your generosity is so appreciated!!”

  • We NEED Diverse Books!

    Funded Jul 21, 2018

We are now about 5 weeks into the new school year and loving how our class is growing together as a community! I have been so excited to be able to share these awesome books with them thanks to your amazing and generous donations!! I am so grateful and appreciative for each one of you and your support for public education.

Reading aloud to this class is one of my favorite parts of the day. It really is a calming time for them and they get so engrossed in the books. I read books to them throughout the day, but I've really been loving dedicating the last part of the day to a read aloud and a time for them to respond in their Writer's Notebooks. These books that you gifted to our classroom have been perfect for this part of our day!!! We especially loved Pink is for Boys and Maddi's Fridge- those have sparked a lot of discussion. Amazing Grace and Boundless Grace are some of my personal favorites and I can't wait to share those with the class in the upcoming weeks!

Thank you again for your support- it means the world to me and my students. Not only will this year's class get to enjoy them, but I can share them with classes for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Prentice

  • Fresh Supplies for a Fresh Start

    Funded Aug 20, 2018

I truly can't thank you enough for your donation to our classroom. It is greatly appreciated. Our district has drastically cut the budget this year and we are really limited on the supplies we can order. Additionally, a large percentage of our families cannot afford to bring the supplies we ask for on our short school supply list, so asking for more donations from them is not an option.

The Clorox wipes have already come in handy for cleaning up after breakfast. If our students arrive after the tardy bell, they are still provided a brown bag breakfast to eat in the classroom. We know how important it is to start the day with a good breakfast and we want everyone to eat. This does bring some classroom spills and messes, however, so it is great to have wipes to clean up with. I am also spraying down the desks, door handles, and light switches with the Lysol spray every afternoon once the students have gone home. I know this will help us all stay healthy so that no one has to miss a day of their important education. Same thing with the Kleenex tissues- I only got 6 boxes from students, so having an extra supply for the upcoming cold/flu season will be AMAZING! The bandaids have already been opened and used many times as well!!

Thank you again for your support. It feels so good to know that there our people out there who support teachers, students, and education in general. It takes a village to educate, care for, and love on these students, especially ones with such rough home lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations, I truly, truly appreciate it!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Prentice

Our school is in a low income area on the east part of town. My students come from households that do not have a lot of books or other forms of print. Unfortunately, their reading and math skills are negatively affected by their lack of resources. They are truly eager to learn and are definitely hard workers! We appreciate your support!
