Color Our Classroom

Funded Oct 24, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our PRE-K classrooms. Many of our students have disabilities that require visuals to help them learn. Having a color printer that our team can share to make colored copies, visuals, rewards, and pictures of our students doing the best work they can has made a big difference in how are students are learning.

Our classrooms have students with autism, speech and language delays, Deaf/Hard of Hearing students who rely heavily on color and visuals to learn and function in the school environment. It is so much easier to make these visuals at school rather then waiting to make them at home, so that they can be used right away! Being able to make these activities so much quicker helps so much in reducing their behaviors and increasing their communication skills during the school day and beyond.

As a result of receiving a color printer and materials from your generous donation, our students are achieving their PREK standards of letter and sound identification, story comprehension, number identification and number sense to be ready to take on Kindergarten next year!

It has been a long road of recovery since Hurricane Ian flooded our classrooms last year. With your donation, it allowed us to get a printer and materials that allowed us to re-establish our routines and increase our students learning by being able to replace what was lost during the hurricane. Thank you so much for your generosity in helping our classrooms get back to learning and creating engaging activities for our students.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Kannaley
