Getting Creative In 1st Grade
Funded Sep 28, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to our classroom. The art supplies you funded for our room has made a huge impact on my students. I have been able to use these supplies more in our writing, science, and social studies. It has taken a huge burden off of my shoulders when it comes to constantly buying supplies needed for projects in my room, and for that I am extremely grateful. My students were over the moon when I opened the boxes containing the supplies you sent us. Just last week we were writing what they would do if they found a pot of gold. They loved getting to use different supplies to enhance their final draft or "pretty paper" as we call it here in first grade. They also used a variety of supplies to create a leprechaun to go with their writings. They have been so proud showing these off to their parents during conferences. Thank you for helping me to get my students excited about learning. That is truly priceless.”

Books to Grow Our Love of Reading!
Funded Jul 8, 2021I cannot begin to describe the impact your donation has made on my students. As first graders, they are learning all the ins and outs of reading and working to become fluent readers. These books have helped us get that much closer to our goal. These books have offered a variety of levels and interest to my students that I did not have previously. This has helped in our phonics and letter recognition by being able to give them more appropriate books for their reading levels. In my classroom we hit phonics very hard. We have been working on different phonics skills since the beginning of school and it is making it so they are able to put these words together and blend, sound out, or stretch the words apart by themselves and read more independently. I am so proud of how far they have come after only one quarter and cannot wait to see where the remainder of the school year will take us. With this being said, I cannot thank you more for your generous contribution to our classroom.”
