• STEM Frenzy In Mrs. Marra's Pre-K !

  What an experience my students had with all the materials you provided for our class through "STEM Frenzy in Mrs Marra's Pre-K". Our class has been buzzing with activities & happy shouts.

  It's been so rewarding to see the enthusiasm of the students while work with the LENOVO LAPTOP to find answers & type them in. They've been able to spell words on their own, find them on the keyboard & then copy them everywhere.

  The CREATE A CHAIN REACTION & the SURVIVE THE QUAKE ENGINEERING KIT have brought new found interests in many students whose joy & excitement is seen & heard as they shout "Yes" "Oh Yes" & start their happy dance. All the students get so engaged & eager to express themselves & talk about what happened after working with the LINK & GO MAGNETIC VEHICLES, the JUNIOR ENGINEER SET, the EASY GRIP TWEEZERS & the PLAY AND EXPLORE ROCKET. Our share time has gotten longer & longer, more detailed and enriched with so many ideas that offer so much to build on the following day.

• STEAM N' PRE-K !

  Thank you so much for your donations! Our students have been so interested to read along using the new "Hamilton Buhl Bluetooth Cd & Cassette Player". They have recorded themselves, asked others to come in the "Listening Center" to read & listen to stories. The students are overjoyed when they get to work with the "Engineer A Coaster " activity kit. It is so rewarding to see them plan together what angles to place the Magnetic Tracks which brings about collaboration and never ending discussions, trials and rearranging the pieces, then to hear the sheer excitement when it all works out. The " See & Solve Math" kits have added to our learning of math concepts & problem solving as they have been in our Math Center and our daily activities. The students are even more excited to work with the "Light & Sound Touch Circuit" Kits which allow them to experiment and find new ways to make it work, light up and make weird sounds.

  Overall our class is enriched and has become very involved In STEAM, thanks to your donations and the exciting materials we have gotten.

• Read Pre-K...Read!

  Thank you again for your donations. Our Pre-K class has been buzzing and the students are so eager to learn as they take turns using the many different materials. Working on the ipad has allowed many students to reach their goals as they can now navigate the app and find the activity that helps them identify the letters and the letter sounds. My ESOL students can match pictures with words using the ipad and apps that show them when they are correct or not . The students faces light up as they repeat what they hear and that time on the ipad enriches their vocabulary. It has given the class a new boost as everyone takes a turn deciding what app they will be working with.

  At the easel, the paint has the art area bursting with colors and the students are making vivid pictures and retelling stories they have in their heads full of flowers, rainbows, butterflies and sun. The Dot Art kit brings individuality as everyone wants to make pictures with dots & circles. The Listen & Learn kits & the wireless class headphones have made following along on Rhyming words & activities possible and easy to complete. The students enjoy the materials and they are most excited to show what they have done and learned.

• Math Stars Rolling With Numbers...!!!!

  My class was so excited to get the I-pads and the math manipulative. Everyone of my students pays close attention to the lessons to make sure they get a turn using the new materials. They also get to decide what they are going to work with. Because we rotate it has gone very smoothly and the students are now eager to get their hands on the math resources. Many of the students have made pictures of their favorite math materials and told their parents about them. They constantly tell me and their parents how they enjoy coming to class: " I love Mrs. Marra's class and I love to come to school..."

  Everyday the students have access to the resources in he math center and they take turns using them. With the I-pads we worked on Star fall, ABC Mouse, ABC 123, Splash Math, Abby's Basic Skills Preschool & One Billion Apps. My low performing students are now identifying numbers and can count higher than 30. Many of them have started adding and are looking at numbers with relations to amounts and quantities.

  Thanks to you and your donations of the materials. The dynamics in the class has completely changed. My students are now confident and they participate in all class discussions and math activities because they have had the ability to work with the resources that fostered their success and built their confidence.
