  • Healthy & Happy in TK

    Funded Apr 23, 2025

Thank you so much for funding our DonorsChoose project! Your generosity provided our students with stainless steel water bottles to keep them healthy and hydrated, as well as social-emotional learning books, toys, and hands-on manipulatives that encourage creativity, self-regulation, and engagement. Your support truly brightened our classroom and our hearts. We are incredibly grateful for your kindness and belief in our students' potential. Thanks to you, they can continue to healthy and happy as we keep learning and growing in meaningful ways every day.”

  • Stock the Steam Lab!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you again for your generosity to this project. Keeping a fully stocked STEAM Lab is an important part of our mission to ensure we create meaningful pathways in STEM for our students. Access to high-quality materials and opportunity to engage with STEM concepts is a huge part of this.

Our students were so excited to see the new set up with the new STEAM Lab furniture and materials. Students during the school day and as part of our after school programs have been able to utilize the space to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! Students are using the space for coding, building, creating, and more! Once again, thank you for making this a reality!”

  • Play-Based Materials for TK Learning

    Funded Oct 23, 2022

Thank you for supporting our students with getting outside to PLAY! These materials were a huge hit with students across all grade spans, but we especially loved them in the TK-2 recess!

These materials supported students with sharing and provided more opportunities for students to join in with recess games! It has been so wonderful to see students playing different imaginative games, practicing their ball skills, and engaging in team sports during recess times. Before these materials, less students had the opportunity to try it out outside of P.E. times. Once again, thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pirner

  • Mindful and Moving: Yoga Mats for TK/K

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Wow! Thank you for your generosity in funding this project. It's no surprise that young children need lots of opportunities for movement and mindfulness. These yoga mats are used in several ways throughout the day, and they are an invaluable addition to our classroom!

Students use the mats daily for rest and relaxation times. Having a dedicated space to relax supported students in winding down after recess and getting ready for the next parts of the day. We also use them for stretching and fitness activities, and this helped students move their bodies while staying safe! Thank you again!”

  • Interest Areas for High-Level Early Learning

    Funded Aug 16, 2022

Thank you for your generosity in funding this project! For this age group, access to materials and areas that spark interest is paramount to learning. Students were able to engage in sensory activities, learning, play, and discovery through the use of these materials.

Creating opportunities for students to self-select activities is something that I strongly value in the classroom and beyond. Thank you for supporting my classroom and students by providing more opportunities for wonder and exploration for learning!”

  • The Right to Read: Creating a Culture of Literacy

    Funded May 31, 2022

Thank you so much for the funding of this project. It meant the world to my students this past year, and they enjoyed engaging with literacy in new and exciting ways.

The right to read is something so important to me, and part of ensuring all students become strong readers is access to high-quality, science-backed materials for foundational literacy. Students were able to use these materials throughout different parts of the day, and I am proud to say many of our youngest learners in TK left for kindergarten able to decode words!

This prepares them for the next year but also instills a love for learning and literacy. When students feel successful and have the tools, they are able to accomplish amazing things! Once again, thank you for your support of this project!”

    With gratitude,

  • Literacy and Justice for All

    Funded Mar 8, 2022

Wow! I can't begin to express my gratitude for your generosity in funding this project. My students were over the moon when we unboxed all of the materials, and we have been using them consistently since.

Foundational skills are so important for fostering lifelong readers, and these decodable readers and literacy materials have served to enhance the print-rich classroom through literacy centers, fluency practice, read alouds, and independent activities. Parents have also appreciated the access to grade-appropriate stories at home.

With your support, my students are now able to continue to build their home libraries with books they can read independently and with their families. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading while also building their joy of literacy. Thank you again for supporting our youngest readers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pirner

  • Go Out and Move: Elementary Recess Stations

    Funded Oct 18, 2021

Wow! You would not believe the impact this project has made on the recess experience for our K-2 students. There have been virtually zero issues with sharing, because there is plenty to go around for everyone.

We have been able to set up recess stations, so students can choose an activity that they enjoy. Students can now select to play basketball, play soccer, explore materials like jump ropes and hoops, play four square, hopscotch, and even relax with an art center. All the materials have a home, and students have been careful to take care of the new materials with the organizing cart.

Thank you for making play and wellness a priority!”

  • Mini-Mathematicians: Hands-On Materials for Kindergarten Math

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

I can't thank you all enough for donating such incredible materials to our classroom. Your kindness and generosity has not gone unnoticed especially for our youngest learners.

Teaching math can sometimes feel so abstract for students, so having high quality manipulatives can make all the difference for students to truly understand the concepts. Students have loved the materials for structured math groups, but they have even used the materials for free play!

Right now, our students are working on addition and subtraction through word problems. These materials have been crucial for building automaticity and also for scaffolding concepts for students who need a little more support a little more of a challenge. Once again, THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pirner

  • If You Give a Child a Book: Remote Hands-on Literacy

    Funded Dec 7, 2020

Wow! As you know, kindergarten is the foundation for all other grades for literacy, math, socioemotional development, and so much more. This was their first exposure to "real school" and so much of it had to be done through a screen this year due to COVID-19. I was amazed by their tenacity and resilience each and every day, but it was hard to teach foundational literacy skills and phonics through a computer screen without the chance to practice with a real book in their hands.

I cannot even put into words how much your gift of these books meant to me, my students, and their families. This made school feel so much more real, and it provided each child with decodable books that follow the science of reading. Every student had over 30 REAL books to read as well as all the supplies they could need to support their literacy development. We were able to read from our own books during small groups rather than relying out following a pointer on a screen. I was able to see their excitement through Seesaw as they read out loud to me from their new books. I could identify issues for me to keep working on in class, and I could better guide families to support with tangible books.

Because of donations like this and the amazing kindergarten families I had in partnership along the way, my students were able to make huge improvements this year and are ready for 1st grade! They left my classroom reading, writing, and even making friends along the way... all through distance! THANK YOU!”
