Multipurpose Games for Play in the Classroom
Funded Feb 5, 2020A very sincere thank you for supporting our students through your generous donation to this project. We recognize the need for students to be involved in their learning through more hands-on and play-based approaches. Seeing this project come to life is very exciting and I know will benefit our students academic and social skills. Thank you again for your contributions.”

Wobble While We Work
Funded May 24, 2019Thank you again for your donations to this project. My students were thrilled to see these wobble stools when we added them to our class flexible seating options. They are the perfect height and give just the right amount of movement and core support to those that need it most. It is definitely a favorite seating area in the classroom. The stools are so much more supportive of students and the need to move while working. They have increased concentration and less distraction because of this sensory seating option.”

Comfy Kinder Cushions
Funded May 24, 2019Thank you again for your donation/contribution to this project. When students walked in the first day after having their new seating options set up they were beyond excited. For five and six year olds, they took this new responsibility of using various seating options seriously and continue to make seating choices right for them and using the materials in the right way. It has been incredibly beneficial for students who need to move while they work and to not require them to sit on the hard floor or chairs but instead on nice cushions or comfortable and homey options.
We now have many tables with different choices and students do not stay at the same choice all day. They are constantly reflecting on where to sit to do their best work at any given time. They have portable supply boxes and name tags to add to this freedom thanks to our new seats. The floor seats, balls, and cushions all provide different levels of support to different students throughout the day. School work is getting done with less distractions as students are able to meet their movement and sensory needs without the need to get up and wander.
We so appreciate you supporting us and our learning. I plan to add a few more choices at the remaining tables in the room given the success of what we have.”

For the Love of Literacy
Funded Mar 14, 2019Thank you so much for making this project come to life for my kindergarten students. All students are enjoying the books in a variety of ways including during our daily read-to-self time, reading with a partner, reading with a teacher, as well as sharing them at home with their parents. Students have so many ways to experience and practice literacy in my classroom and these new books have boosted their confidence in these experiences. Students can pick books at their appropriate level as well as choose between fiction and nonfiction, thus widening their range of exposure to these genres through texts that are easily accessible to them in the sense that they don't need to be overly explained for students to understand.
The books have strong picture support as well as repetitive sentences that help early readers. Some of the first strategies they use are picture cues, learning sight words, and pointing to the words as they read. The books we got through this project support all these areas of early reading. It's been helpful for their parents to support their reading as well because of the structure of the texts and predictable patterns. Parents can let their students read without feeling like they have to do all the "work." Each of the leveled kits also has an activity book which is great to extend the reading and comprehension.
Thank you again for your support of my students!”
