Comfy Kindergarten Seats!
Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you for your generous contribution to our kindergarten class. Because of your generosity, my students have a comfortable and inviting place to read books in our classroom library.
Now we have such a cozy and inviting setting for young learners to read books, play together, and have some quiet time, too. The students have made themselves at home in our new library furniture, and particularly enjoy sitting together, sharing books.
Our new library chairs greatly enhance an essential spot for learning in our classroom and we just can't thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hansen

Funded Oct 30, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The kindergarten students have greatly benefited from your thoughtful contribution!
The rekenreks have enabled my students to count from 1-20 with greater efficiency and comprehension. They have learned to compose and decompose numbers, as well as learn to add and subtract within 10. The rekenreks are a tangible way for my students to practice their number fluency and beyond.
Your donation provided our class with so many new learning opportunities and we are very grateful!”

Classroom Magazines for Kindergarten!
Funded Aug 22, 2015Our students are tremendously grateful to you for your generous donation of a class set of Scholastic News: Let's Find Out magazines. The students are so excited to receive their weekly bundle of magazines! I have noticed an improvement in their reading and reading comprehension skills because they are so motivated by the new reading materials.
The magazines cover holidays, current events, science, and social studies topics that are on grade level and at peak interest for the children. They are also wonderful because the students are able to take them home to keep!
When the magazines arrive each week, we preview the vocabulary using the online component. This visual impact is so important, especially to our English Language Learners. Once the students preview the magazine, we dive into reading the main article, which uses predictable, repetitive text, so the students are actually able to read them on their own! This often leads to discussions, art projects, writing lessons, and/or further investigations.
Thank you so much for your generous gift. It has made such a positive impact on our class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hansen
Science Materials for Third Grade!
Funded Apr 15, 2015Thank you for donating to our classroom! Your donation allowed our class to have science materials such as an electricity kit to study circuits, and animal specimens to study animal adaptations.
Our class has been able to learn about animals such as birds, mammals, reptiles, fish, and insects by touching, observing, and exploring a variety of realistic animal specimens. My students have used these specimens to learn more about the ways animals live, the types of foods they eat, and their habitats.
Thank you for your generosity!”

Nonfiction Readers to Inspire and Inform!
Funded Jan 22, 2015Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! My students were very excited to receive so many books! They especially love the biographies of famous people such as, Barack Obama, Helen Keller, and Harriet Tubman. By reading these books, my students have had a better grasp of history and historical events. They are also making connections between the past and the present.
Oftentimes, we use these books to support our learning of various topics, such as animal adaptations, or famous Americans. Because these books are so interesting and age appropriate, my students have been reading them voraciously.
I have noticed a dramatic increase in my students' reading fluency and comprehension skills, and I feel it has a great deal to do with receiving these wonderful nonfiction, high-interest books. Many of my students began the school year, one-to-two grade levels behind in their reading. I can proudly say, many of these students are now reading at grade level, thanks in part, to your generous donation. We are so thankful!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hansen
Extra! Extra! Classroom Magazines for Third Graders!
Funded Sep 15, 2014Our class is tremendously grateful to you for your generous donation of a class set of Scholastic News magazines. Nothing excites the students more than receiving the weekly bundle of magazines! I have noticed an improvement in their reading and reading comprehension skills because they are so motivated by the new reading materials. Since many students do not have access to books at home, or parents who work late, these magazines are wonderful because the students are able to take them home to keep!
When the magazines arrive each week, we always preview the vocabulary using the online component. Because my class is mainly made up of English learners, the online, visual impact is key. Once the students preview the magazine, we dive into reading the main article and then we discuss what we've read. We are able to get into great detail and the students are able to find evidence in the text while answering questions about the articles in the magazines. This often leads to writing lessons and/or further investigations.
Thank you so much for improving the reading ability and motivation of my students! Your generous gift has made such a positive impact on our class.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Hansen
