Duck, Duck, Chicken?
Funded May 11, 2013I am still in awe and amazed at the generosity of others. The quail, chicken, and duck eggs with the incubator made my science class the talk of the school. Not only were my students able to watch the eggs hatch and the chicks develop, but other classrooms were able to see the experience as well.
The students were able to research the variations in the development of quails, chickens, and ducks. Through candling, they could see how each different type of egg developed at different speeds. The students were able to use their research and compare it to seeing first hand the differences in each bird; from the beak, to the eyes, to the claws on the toes.
Your gift made a profound impact on my students. This was a great end of the year project that made science interactive and fun as it should be. They will forever have this learning experience. Teachers at my school became interested in the project and want it for their next classroom. Your donations have not only helped my classroom be more interactive, but my school as well. Without donors such as yourself, the classroom would be a dull experience and our students will not learn as much as they could.”
With gratitude,

Explorers Today, Scientists Tomorrow!
Funded Dec 18, 2012A single letter cannot fully express the gratitude that I have for your generosity. The praying mantis eggs and tadpoles that you donated helped my Science class become a fun and interactive experience. With your help, we saw and studied the life cycles of African Clawed frogs and praying mantises, rather than simply viewing them on a dull, life cycle poster. The students enjoyed observing the hatching of the mantises and were especially intrigued as they grew with each skin molt. Also, the tadpole metamorphosis process provided the students with an interesting comparison on how different species develop.
Additionally, I was able to share the frogs with the school's two other 6th grade classes. It made me ecstatic to enable so many more students to partake in this amazing experience. Our school is a low income school so it is not always easy to demonstrate the highly experimental and experiential nature of Science, but your donation has done exactly that.
Again, I personally thank you for making Science hands-on and memorable. My school and students thanks for your generosity. Without caring and involved donors like you, the classroom would be a dull place.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rodriguez
