Funded Aug 12, 2024We are excited to share the profound impact that the "Mind Matters" project has had on our students, particularly in how technology has enhanced their learning and mental health awareness. Many of our donors may not be fully aware of the specific ways technology is integrated into our students' learning experiences. With the implementation of the "Mind Matters" journal, students now have access to interactive digital resources that complement their journaling activities, including guided mindfulness exercises, video tutorials, and online forums for anonymous sharing. This integration has transformed their approach to mental health, allowing for a more personalized and engaging learning experience that fosters self-discovery and emotional intelligence.
What excites our students the most about this new product is its interactive nature and the freedom it offers for self-expression. The journal encourages creativity through art, writing prompts, and goal-setting exercises, making the process feel more approachable and less isolating. Many students find joy in customizing their journals and sharing their progress with peers, enhancing their sense of community and belonging. The digital aspect provides instant feedback and resources that help them navigate their mental health journeys more effectively, allowing them to explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive environment.
We have also noticed particular students who have truly embraced this technology. For instance, one student who previously struggled with anxiety has found solace in the guided mindfulness exercises available through the journal, reporting that she feels more centered and connected to her emotions. Another student, often overwhelmed by the challenges of high school, has started leading group discussions based on journal entries, fostering a supportive environment for his classmates. The "Mind Matters" project has not only equipped our students with valuable tools but has also nurtured a sense of community and resilience, empowering them to take charge of their mental health and navigate their high school experience with confidence and clarity.
Thank you for your continued support in making this transformative project a reality. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students.”

Funded Dec 3, 2023I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of our recent project. The new resources have truly made a significant impact on my students and our classroom environment.
One of the exciting initiatives we have coming up is our participation in the local rabbit rescue's pet donation day. My students are eager to help those looking to adopt pets by providing them with essential resources to begin their new pet families. We will be hosting a raffle where we will offer small pet playpens, toys, bedding, feeders, and food storage at varying price points of $1, $5, and $10. This event not only encourages community engagement but also promotes kindness and responsibility among our students.
When my students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and gratitude. They immediately began brainstorming how they could use these resources to give back to the community. This upcoming raffle will be a wonderful opportunity for them to take the lead in facilitating the event. They will be responsible for counting the proceeds, creating signs, addressing potential adopters, and ensuring that all donations are properly returned to the Rabbit Rescue.
I believe this experience will instill a sense of pride in my students as they contribute positively to our community, and I am excited to witness their growth through this project. Thank you once again for your generosity and support, which has made this possible.”

Funded Dec 11, 2023Thank you so much for your donations to our fetal pig dissection. It was an experience my students will never forget! It was a moment I would have never imagined coming true. They were dressed as scientists and correctly used each dissection tool. They could not believe they would get this opportunity but enjoyed it to the fullest.
With this exposure, I hope to open my students up more to hands-on learning experiences. I want them to dissect owl pellets and have my students compare and contrast the processes.
Thank you for making this project come to life.”

Fruits and Veggies the Hydroponic Way!
Funded Dec 1, 2023Thank you for your generous contributions to our hydroponics system. The reason I wanted to give this to my Hydroponics system my students was to expose them to STEM in multiple ways, from understanding how a sustainable system works to grow plants and calculating correct nutrients and water levels to using problem-solving skills to discover issues with plants and make changes and tweaks to help determine what could have gone wrong.
Also, to compare and contrast the growth process of both our hydroponic system and aquaponics system.
We were also able to get a class pet this week, a guinea pig named Calculus and we are using our systems to grow foods for him to eat!! We are looking forward this process.”
