Decoding for Fluency!
Funded Oct 3, 2024Thank you for donating to this project. My students struggle to read, but are building their confidence with these decodable books! The fluency practice is helping them to build their reading vocabulary, while increasing their awareness of the written language.
My class has been use these materials during guided reading groups. My students are engaged with their reading in ways that I have never seen before. They actively participate in conversations and readily jump into new reading passages. I am not seeing the reluctance I once saw when it was time to read.
I hope this new found confidence in reading will serve as momentum in other academic areas; after all, reading is the backbone to all learning! Thank you for making this happen and providing my students with a new materials to keep them engaged.”

Funded May 6, 2023Thank you for your generous donation to our project! Because of you we are able to get engaging activities, from Teachers Pay Teachers, to use in our class. It is important that classrooms have a variety of materials that reach different levels of students. These activities do just that!
So far, we have ben able to get learning center activities, games, maps, and puzzles. They are very useful when working with partners and groups. Not only do these resources help us academically, but they also allow us to work on socialization.
Again, thank you for your donation. We greatly appreciate all of the help and support!”

Putting My Personal Style on My Digital Work
Funded Jul 11, 2021Thank you for your generous donations. I am thrilled you funded my project. My students were so excited to open our box of materials. They immediately started sorting out the items and looking at how to use our tablets.
These tablets have enabled my students to share their own pictorial conceptions, diagrams, and ideas. They have allowed our discussions to go much deeper through visual evidence.
These tablets have allowed my students to make stronger connections between the activities we do and the content that we are studying in class. They love using the tablets and are constantly trying to find new ways to use them!”

Engaging Learners in Reading and Writing
Funded Oct 8, 2020Thank you for your generous donations. I am thrilled that you funded my project. My students love to read and it doesn't take much to spike their curiosities.
These scholastic magazines have enabled my students to learn more about the world around us, while creating an interest in current events. Watching students lean over a magazine pointing at interesting articles does this teacher heart good.
Thanks to you, we now have both digital and hard copies of scholastic magazines that we are able to use in our classroom. Thank you so much for all that you have done to help my students and their studies.”

Funded May 13, 2018Thank you for donating to this project! My students eagerly anticipated the opening of the boxes. As we took out each book they grinned as if it were Christmas morning!!
To see the joy on their faces as they flipped through each book has made me one happy teacher. Students that typically don't get excited about reading have been reading through these new books and making connections to the content from class! It is not uncommon to see two students huddled over a book reading.
Again, thank you for helping my class receive these materials!”

Getting Engaged in a Good Book!
Funded Feb 9, 2017Thank you for donating to this project. When the books arrived my students were overjoyed! They helped to unpack the boxes and were stating which books they wanted to read first! Their excitement was so contagious that we all decided we should spend some time looking through our new books; so we spent the rest of the afternoon reading, even my reluctant readers!
My students have been reading these books during independent reading time, guided reading, free time, well really just about anytime they can! I've never seen this group of students enjoy reading so much! My students have been reading and sharing this information in class, at home with their families, and with other students. The conversations I have overheard makes my heart smile!
I hope this love for reading and school continues as it is such a joy to see their levels of engagement. Thank you for making this happen and providing my students with a new way to connect with their learning.”

Engaging Learners via Interactive Literacy
Funded Jan 1, 2016Thank you for donating to this project. After this project was funded my students anxiously awaited the arrival of our new materials. When the boxes arrived my students were overjoyed! They immediately started asking when we could use them!! So, of course we had to open them up right away!
My students have been using these interactive materials during reading workshop and free time. It brings a smile to my face to see my reluctant readers successfully interacting with the learning stations provided. One student told me that playing a game about inferences was much easier than making inferences about a reading selection. That same student is now picking up on inferences within her on personal reading selections!
Thank you for making this happen and providing my students with a new way to connect with their learning. It is community members like you that enable educators to bring learning to life. Thanks!”

Funded Aug 25, 2014Thank you for donating to this project. After it was funded my students anxiously awaited the arrival of our new books. Once they arrived they were overjoyed! I did not even have a chance to put the books up before students were requesting to read them. Their excitement was so contagious that we all decided we should spend some time looking through our new books; so we spent the rest of the afternoon reading.
My students have been reading these books during independent reading time, guided reading, free time, well really just about anytime they can! I've never seen this group of students enjoy reading so much! Even my reluctant readers have been caught with their nose in a book. These students have been reading and sharing this information in class, at home with their families, and with their reading buddies. The conversations I have overheard makes my heart smile! They are truly grasping on to the content which is making our lessons more engaging and interactive!
My students are currently searching for ways to extend the knowledge learned from the books provided. In fact I have one group that is monitoring how much water they use, all because they read about how some people do not have easy access to water and have to walk several miles just to get to it. This cycle of reflection allows the students to not only learn about the struggles some people face, but how they can practice good citizenship and find ways to make our planet a better place. Talk about taking education to another level! Wow!
My students have also taken ownership over many of the concepts we are learning about simply because of the knowledge and confidence attained via these books. I hope this love for reading and school continues as it is such a joy to see their levels of engagement. Thank you for making this happen and providing my students with a new way to connect with their learning.”

Funded Dec 30, 2013Thank you for your donation. My students were anxious to open the boxes holding our new science materials. They were immediately drawn to the hands-on-learning science kits and were begging to open them right away!
The materials you funded has allowed my students to enjoy learning and make connections with the content they are learning in class. Science discovery time has become a favorite part of the day! My students look forward to experimenting, problem solving, and learning scientific knowledge. They have been enthusiastically working with these materials and have really shown a love for science. The students have enjoyed working with these science kits so much that several of them have gone home and used house hold materials to make their own kits.
Learning science has become more engaging, thus allowing my students to learn and retain more information. It fills my heart to know that these students have developed such a love and appreciation for this subject! Thank you so much.”

Funded Oct 15, 2013Thank you for your generous donations. My students were so excited to open up our box of materials. The IPAD was charged right away, and the kids have been using it ever since!
The IPAD you funded has given my students a resource to use during science investigations. They look up new ideas that connect to our experiments, and have found many applications that we use to enhance our learning.
This IPAD has allowed them to make stronger connections between the hands-on-activities we do and the content that we are studying in class. They love using the IPAD and are constantly trying to find new ways to use it! They love being an "expert" and teaching us new content, applications, and ideas that they found on the IPAD. Thank you for helping to bring a smile to my students' faces and knowledge to their ever growing minds.”
