  • A New Library Display...Hooray!

    Funded Dec 16, 2021

Thank you so very much! Our library displays are looking beautiful thanks to you! The wire racks and clear frames have made the library displays pop and my students are able to easily find wonderful books that they love!

The tape has come in handy for hanging signs and classwork!

It is so heart warming knowing that people we never met want my students to succeed as much as I do. Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts!

They say it takes a village, thank you for being an important part of ours”

    With gratitude,

  • It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

    Funded Nov 23, 2021

Wow! It's hard to believe the month of December has come and gone! We had so much fun in the Library with makerspace activities each time students visited the library.

They loved making the different ornaments and we couldn't have done that without you! over 400 students were able to create their very own ornament to keep and let me tell you the looks on their faces were worth it!

For some students this is the first time they have ever made an ornament.

There were so many special moments in December and ornament making definitely ranked at the top for my students, thank you for making this possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Calandra

  • All Aboard the Polar Express

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Wow! Polar Express Day was so much fun...learning games, viewing the movie and then parading around the building to see all the decorated doors. It was the equivalent of adults driving around to see Christmas lights....definitely got the students excited.

We were able to use the props for all elementary schools in the district, which was awesome and we will save them for many years to come!

The stickers and bell necklaces were loved by the students also amd really got them motivated. They always get so excited when there's something they can keep!

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Calandra

  • Turn Up the Music!

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Our brand new dance club is off to a great start! The music plays loud enough for all to hear and our students are learning new moves each week.

The speaker is so important, as without it we would be relying on my computer to play music, this is definitely a much better option.

It has been great to have this speaker because it is so easy to move, 1 week we practiced in the cafeteria and then next time in the lobby, with this portable speaker we can easily transition anywhere we need to go.

They say it takes a village, thank you for being an important part of ours!”

  • Books, Books, Books!

    Funded Nov 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness! The new books put huge smiles on my students faces! The new books were unpacked immediately and they were so excited to read them. Mi didn't even get to take a picture of the questioner chapter books before they were all checked out!

The new diverse picture books were especially appreciated as my students love seeing kids they can relate to in a new book.

They say it takes a village, thank you for being an important part of ours! We couldn't have added these new books to the library with out you.”

  • Hands on Makerspace!

    Funded Aug 17, 2021

Thank you so much! My students have been so creative when creating in our makerspace!

We have used the car stock to make hats for Halloween and headbands for our thanksgiving day parade.

The colored masking tape came in handy when we created our balloons for our Thanksgiving Day Parade.

We used the building straws while creating fences to keep creepy carrots away from jasper and for free builds too.

The screwdriver and batteries have been a lifesaver.

We created picture frames for Halloween too.

In addition, there are still plenty of materials in our makerspace to continue activities through the year...next up will be origami ornaments with the colored paper after we read The Carpenters gift.

Thank you for supporting our classroom...Stay tuned!”

  • Learning Through Play!

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

Thank you sooooo much! The students LOVE playing with these toys, their imaginations are running wild and the older kids are practicing their math money skills while having fun. This is truly a treat as most students do not have toys like this at home.

Students from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade have been enjoying them and they are very durable.

Your kindness and generosity made this happen and we couldn't be more grateful that, through this project you are a part of our classroom!

    ❤️”

  • Thanksgiving Day Parade Ready!

    Funded Nov 4, 2021

    Thank you so much!

My students (and the adults and visitors) are loving the blow up turkey in the lobby! It has been a great decoration and is a reminder about our 3rd Annual parade that takes place Tuesday!

All of the first grade students have been busily preparing their headbands that they will wear as they watch the second graders put on the parade. They are loving coloring with markers and can't wait until the big day.

The 2nd graders were amazed by the marionette puppets and worked hard to make their own after they saw how the strings worked!

We couldn't have done it without you!”

  • More Fly Guy Books Please!

    Funded Oct 14, 2021

Thank you so much! These books were put into circulation in the library immediately! My students love to read fly guy books as the reading level is just right for many of them.

It is so nice to see my students go to the Arn section and see a couple of books available to check out at her than joining a waitlist, these extra few copies have made a great difference in keeping all my readers happy!

  • Trunk or Treat!

    Funded Oct 14, 2021

Thank you so much! Our Trunk or Treat was a huge success. Trunks were decorated like different story books and the pumpkin backdrop was a great scene setter. The students loved being able to choose a long lasting treat rather than unhealthy candy. Additionally (the fall backdrop never came-it got lost in transit, so we were able to choose a replacement, so we chose to get a rocket and penguin for our Thankgiving Day Parade which is a huge thill for the students.

My students are K-5th graders who are full of energy & visit the library once a week for scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the library to complete a task or come for a full class activity. Some also come during recess for fun or to mentor younger students. This year library looks different, Library is coming to classrooms. Students attend school in a hybrid model or some attend school fully virtually 5 days per week. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this year & are not only surviving, but thriving in this very different environment due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in makerspace activites & STEM challenges & are very curious. There are over 1400 students in our school! I have a large population of ELLs, they eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. They are all amazing kids!
