Many Math Manipulatives For All Little Hands
Funded Aug 23, 2021We are thankful to all the donors on this and all the projects that have been funded for our classroom. In a time that kiddos are more comfortable with digital devices, having the a variety of math tools allows students to use multiple learning styles when leaning learning. Kiddos are able to face challenging math skills while using the various tools to actually SEE the math in a HANDS-ON way. The tools have encouraged them to face Math with courage and to make various attempts at solving problems. It is so great to see the kiddos smiles and wide eyes when they make a math connection.”

Kinder Kiddos Meet STEAM, Music and Dramatic Play!
Funded Dec 16, 2020Remote learning has been difficult for my Kindergarten Kiddos. The best way to make sure my kiddos received a wonderful experience was providing them the most hands-on experiences as possible. This project was completely focused on using STEAM materials to use tools and create projects that would keep the hands on activities going. Rhythm stick and wrist bells not only used for music but also for phonemic awareness activities. the kiddos tap, tap tap as they break down phonemes in words. The kiddos used their imagination to created personalized puppets (with many arts and craft materials) that were used for oral language. Kiddos have practiced using puppets while speaking in complete sentences (opinion and choices). Model vehicles will be used for creating and problem solving.
The STEAM materials and projects have kept the kiddos motivated and moving forward.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Our Constructive Colorful Creativity project has been so fun and important for the Kiddos in my Virtual Kinder Class. Having a large variety of colors and a fair amount of construction paper has been priceless. The kiddos have had the freedom to create without fear of running out of paper when they may make a mistake. This is very important because it decreases anxiety and frustration.
Kindergarten is the year where kiddos create their first memories. Projects are stored for years. In fact, while teaching my current online class, I observed a parent display the holiday projects her other child had made in my class years prior. I knew that having my online kiddos create was going to be very important.
Each week the kiddos have worked on lesson/theme related cut and paste projects. Some projects include: Christmas, Dr. Seuss, Valentine's Day, Lunar New Year, St. Patricks Day and still going.. Not only have they been fun and memorable, they have also allowed the kiddos to build the fine motor skills. We are grateful for the project.”

Funded Sep 17, 2020Setting a solid number sense foundation is critical in Kindergarten. This is the bases for a STRONG Math journey for students throughout the remainder of school career. It is wonderful that each of my Kinder Kiddos has there own set on Unifix Cubes at home during distance learning. It makes it easy to communicate tasks and goals. We use the cubes every single day during math for one-to-one number correspondence, adding more, making less, comparing amounts, completing number stories and so much more. I am so happy that these tools have made Math engaging and exciting. Thank you for all the support.”

Funded Sep 12, 2020From all the donations I have obtained for my students, the paints and art materials have been the most exciting for my Kinder Kiddos! When they received the materials they couldn't stop thanking me for the "present!"
Kindergarten is a year of memories and "firsts" for many kiddos. It absolutely broke my heart that my students were missing the creation of life time memories. This was especially heart breaking because many of my students are siblings of past students who did have the opportunity to create memories in the past.
We create 1-2 times each week. With step by step instructions via Zoom, the kiddos are focused, engaged and very creative during our Art lessons. From color basics (primary, secondary, tertiary and more) to holiday projects (halloween, Fall and Christmas) the joy and excitement is explosive from each and every one of my Kinder Kiddos! I am so grateful for this opportunity that has been gifted to my students.”

Learning My ABCs Is Magnetic!
Funded Sep 5, 2020These amazing Magnet Letter and Magnetic Board sets have been a wonderful tool used by my students through distance learning 4-5 days per week. During Language Arts the kiddos get very excited when it is time for Blending and Dictation. As I introduce new CVC words, the kiddos listen for the sounds in the words and using their magnets they build the words and display on their magnetic boards.
When my students picked up their Magnetic Letters and Boards they were very excited! They stood a little taller and appeared more independent because they felt happy to have a new tool for school. One kiddo stated, "I am going to make new words everyday!" When we used them for the first, time during distance learning, the kiddos were so excited. They were focused and engaged as we practiced letter sounds and connected them as they made new words.
These magnets will also be used for sight word fluency and making words activities!”
