  • Supplies For Chemistry At Miami Northwestern

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

The materials we have received have made a positive impact in our classroom and will continue to do so in the future. The new balance has allowed us to conduct laboratory experiments with more efficiency and precision. The students have thoroughly enjoyed learning with the demonstration activities. I believe it is important to see the chemistry we are learning in action.

I and my students are grateful for the generosity of all the donors and supporters of this project. These materials are being put to good use to promote teaching and learning of chemistry.”

  • MacBook Pro For The Classroom!

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you all so much for your generous donation toward the new laptop for my classroom. The laptop is absolutely invaluable to my daily work as a teacher. It allows me to stay organized, to do all my lesson planning in one central location, and gives me the ability to stay current on student grades and communication no matter where I am in or outside of school.

Some of my students do not have easy access to Internet at home, so the ability to bring videos, images, and other wonders of the internet to the classroom is integral to my teaching. More than anything, this laptop provides me an easy way to make sure all of my students are getting information in multiple formats--through visual aids, viewing videos, etc.

My students tell me they are most grateful for how organized and consistent I am and this laptop has a lot to do with that. I am always ready for my students with a new lesson and they know they can expect a prepared and organized teacher upon entering our Chemistry classroom. Mobile technology has become so commonplace, but it is that very point that makes your gift so incredibly important both to me and to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Payne

Thanks so much for your support. This project will help propel the environmental science curriculum at our school. Thanks so much and keep giving to education because your donations go farther than you could ever imagine!”

  • Chem To College Pipeline!

    Funded Oct 25, 2013

On average I spend well over $2,000 a year on my classroom just buying these basic supplies that I need. And I buy it all for so many reasons. I buy it because I don't want my kids to have to worry about not having a pencil, or paper, or a snack or anything like that. It's just one less thing they have to worry about when they come to school. I think my kids see a difference when I don't have to micro-manage the supplies. I don't have to worry about it because I know that instead of 50 pencils, I have 100 pencils.Less stress on the teacher, in my opinion, means less stress on the kids

Thanks so much for making my job and my students just a little less stressful.

    God Bless”

    With gratitude,

  • Fizz! Boom! Pow! The Wonderful Sounds of Chemistry Labs !

    Funded Dec 31, 2016

I cannot express to you our gratitude for all of your help in funding our printer project!!

I had it hooked up and within just a few minutes my students were using it to help print out their essays and worksheets. They are able to type up their lab reports, edit them, and print them. 'Within the first few days, I even had two students, who usually have trouble turning in written assignments in multiple days time, write, complete and print out the assignment in the time allotted in class!

Thank you for your commitment to science education. These lab materials are expensive, but will be used for many years in gas law and type of reaction experiments. These materials are considered "Science" Equipment, and will be shared with our science department as well.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Payne

My students are mainly juniors and seniors. Most of them will just be starting to prepare for college. My school is categorized as the lower performing schools in the county and in need of extra support and assistance for our students, who all experience high levels of poverty and educational inequity. The majority of my students will either be the first or in the first generation of their families to attend college. Statistically, only 27% of them will graduate college within four years (compared to 42% of students whose parents graduated from college).
