Period Poverty, Is Real!
Funded Apr 1, 2024One of the most immediate impacts of receiving period products is improved school attendance. Studies have shown that the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products leads to absenteeism among adolescent girls. According to research by UNICEF, girls in low-income settings may miss up to 20% of the school year due to menstruation-related issues. When period products are provided, girls no longer have to skip school due to menstruation, leading to higher attendance rates. Now our students have a safe space that will give them what they need.
We also have a clear backpack policy for safety so the pad pouches meet the requirements for a bag within a bag and our girls don't have to be embarrassed because they are carrying menstruation products.”

Stop! Collaborate and Listen.
Funded Oct 18, 2021Originally this project was to get a large dry erase table with the accessories but the table and accessories weren't available. So I was able to get ink for our classroom printer because most districts don't provide color printing but it's hard to teach Science in black and white. This printer allows me to make color copies for concepts the students need to be able to see and touch, in color. Your donations provided that and for that we are grateful! Thank you a million times for always supporting my babies! They need all the reminders that strangers love them just as much as I do!”

Student Supply List, Funded by Donors
Funded Sep 29, 2021Thank you graciously for the support of my classroom. Even though our district is now one to one with devices we had a need for printer ink, binders, color pencils, and class sets of scissors. This project provided all of those things to ensure my students can be successful. My students said, "Mrs. Hunnicutt are you rich?". I said no but we have a lot of people around the country that are loving on us so we are rich with blessings from strangers.
This is year has been stressful but at least the worry of not having some basic classroom supplies has been met.”

Studying Can Be Fun, Right?
Funded Jan 1, 2021Your unwavering support of my students and my classroom is what keeps us going. My students were able to use Study.com for extra practice and help!
When you donate money to our classroom you are donating so much more than just money to buy pencils and paper. You are donating a peace of mind for my students and I.
Study.com will be able to help my students this upcoming school year as well! Talk about gift that keeps on giving. It's nice to know my students will have a plethora of resources right at their fingertips thanks to your generous donations. May God blessing you for blessing us!”

Funded Dec 21, 2020Your unwavering support of my students and my classroom is what keeps us going. My students know that I took the extra step to secure a way to help them literally "breath easier". They always check to see if the ring is red or blue. The red ring means the air is dirty and is being cleaned and blue means we are breathing in "cleaned air".
They do not have to fret about what if COVID is in our classroom, because of you.
When you donate money to our classroom you are donating so much more than just money to buy pencils and paper or in this case an air purifier. You are donating peace of mind to me and my students.
This has been probably the toughest of years to teach and the air purifier has helped me ease their little minds during a pandemic.”

Donors Choose to Pay Teachers to Pay Teachers
Funded Dec 2, 2020Your unwavering support of my students and my classroom is what keeps us going. My students know that if they do not have a pencil or paper (because let's face it, in their little lives, they are facing far greater issues than having paper and pencils) than they can grab a pencil or piece of paper from one of the drawers in the classroom. They do not have to fret about not having the materials that they need and I do not have to fret about having to save money in order to buy them these supplies, because of you.
When you donate money to our classroom you are donating so much more than just money to buy pencils and paper. You are donating peace of mind to me and my students.
No, my students no longer have to worry about not having the materials they need in order to be successful. Your donation to my students has provided the materials that they need in order to come into the classroom and have everything they need in order to learn and for this, I am forever grateful. This has been probably the toughest of years to teach and Teachers Pay Teachers has helped me "keep up" with all the new technological ways we are trying to facilitate learning during a pandemic.”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and one other donor.Write, Write Baby! Then PRINT.
Funded Nov 27, 2019We take for granted the small things. For a child to go through all the iterations of writing their first major essay and they can't print their creations is a big deal. You all gave them exactly that! They were able to print, design, and publish their writing masterpieces!
We got stories about zany cats, pet horses, yes you read that correct pet horses, we do live in OKC. I read heartfelt stories about abuelitas (Spanish for grandmother), tias, and tíos (aunts and uncles).
Thank you for donating to a simple cause. Thank you for investing in my students. Thank you for caring about the children I choose to love every year!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Hunnicutt
