A large minority population in a Title 1 middle school in Florida with 80% of the students receiving free or reduced priced lunch. Our attendance rate is high. The students come to school ready and eager to learn but they face many challenged including having limited resources and inadequate technology. On a daily basis, I have to provide them with books and basic school supplies. I oversee a school wide literacy program every year to encourage my students to read. It is very satisfying to watch them grow and learn. My students are the reason I get up and go to work everyday. In my reading classes, I try to encourage them to love reading and so I surround my classroom with a lot of reading materials. I love teaching at my school and watching the students grow. They are lively and at 12-14 is still anxious to please. My students are the best and I accept the challenge to help them become successful in their endeavors
