I have a self-contained autistic classroom. My students have great sensory needs. I teach my children self help skills as well as academics. The school we are at is in an area that has grown very rapidly. We really need a sensory room for my students, but because of the sudden growth in the school, there isn't an area for us to have a sensory room. The county plans to build onto the school eventually and that should ease our pain that this growth has caused. Our school also has a very high number of free or reduced lunches. We live in a high poverty area.
