Science Still Matters
Funded Jan 14, 2024So thankfull to have the support of such a great community. Your generous support makes these experiences possible for students who would not otherwise have them.
These supplies help us to create real life learning experiences that students are able to relate to and transfer to other situations.
These experiences would not be possible without the generous support of individuals like you.
Our students are really inquisitive by nature are always eager to have hands on experiences like these. They were super excited to learn that the lab supplies and equipment will be available to complete these.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lucas
Science Support
Funded Jan 18, 2024I sincerely appreciate the generosity of all who contributed to this project.
Your generous contributions will allow my students to have first hand experiences in science investigations that they would not have otherwise. This will, hopefully, foster a lifelong love of learning they would not have otherwise. I sincerely appreciate your support”

Mr. Lucas
Explore Learning Subscription for 23-24
Funded Sep 25, 2023I feel so blessed to teach such an amazing group of students and to have the ongoing support of their parents.
Thanks to your generosity our students will have a full year of access to explore learning gizmos which allow students to question, experiment and think just like real scientist.
The gizmos students use through this program span over our entire curriculum and are implemented throughout the year.
As we head into this thanksgiving and holiday season please know that I am thankful for each and everyone of you and your commitment to learning at MPMS.”

Mr. Lucas
Focus on Science
Funded Oct 24, 2022Thank you once again for your contribution to our project "focus on science" Thanks to your generosity all of our students have microscopes that are in good working condition to use during labs. The microscope labs open up a whole new perspective to students allowing them to see first hand organisms they have only seen in pictures or on a screen. The cheek cell lab allows students to view the building blocks of life and the cells they are actually composed of. This will spark a natural curiosity that will , for many, last a lifetime.
Thanks again,
Paul Lucas”

Explore Learning Subscription for Middle School Science
Funded Sep 24, 2022I am so appreciative of your generosity towards this project. Explore learning allows students to perform virtual laboratory exercises which allows students to manipulate variables in different investigations and record the results of their choices. Hands on activities are a great learning tool but this allows students to perform many experiments which would not be possible otherwise.
Your generous support makes these experiences possible and enriches our students learning opportunities in all of the science classes at our school.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lucas
Countdown to Learn
Funded Jan 26, 2022I truly appreciate your contribution to My "countdown to learn" request. Thanks to your generosity the entire eighth grade will benefit from meaningful , hands on learning experiences related directly to their curriculum. The water quality test kitsand Bird beak adaptation labs enhance our instruction for our hydrosphere unit as well as our unit of evolution. The bottle rocket launcher actually makes it possible for 6th 7th and 8th grade students to perfect their designs as they compete in the bottle rocket competition for science olympiad.”

eSports Jerseys for our Girls Who Game
Funded Nov 23, 2021It's safe to say that members of the Girls Who Game team love the new team jerseys! Having esport team jerseys seems to have increased connectedness among members. We have heard nothing but amazing things about the jerseys from team members and staff. Several staff members have even asked how they can get one! It is so amazing to see the girls in the hallways at school light up and to see how they're really gelling as a team. We just took our team photo for the yearbook yesterday wearing our jerseys!
Some girls stopped attending the club meetings for various reasons. These girls started coming back to the meetings once we gave them their jersey because they realized they were a member of a team. Having a team jersey helped them feel like they belonged to this community. This is huge because several of these girls have been learning virtually for over a year and didn't have many friends at school. Now they have a handful of girls and a community they feel connected to.
We believe our Girls Who Game club will continue to grow because students see our girls wearing these jerseys and ask them what the club is about. Our goal is to provide a space for our girls to create, build, problem solve, and critique while having fun! Thank you for supporting them! Erika Henderson & Kelly Barber”

Funded Sep 16, 2021We are so appreciative of your generous donations toward our explore learning subscription. Thanks to your generosity ALL science students at Mills Park Middle school in sixth, seventh and eighth grade will have access to this valuable resource.
This software brings science to life in our classroom by allowing students to manipulate variables and see the impact of their choices on the resulting outcomes. It is impossible to fully describe the impact this has on student learning. The kinds of labs available would never be possible if it were not for this program. Thank you for your generosity and thank you for all you do to make Mills Park a great place to teach and learn.”

7th Grade Magnets, Cells, and Balloons
Funded Mar 22, 2021I am so appreciative of your support towards our project, Magnets, cells and balloons.
Your generosity will allow hundreds of students to have meaningful hands on experiences in science. This has been a very challenging year as we have had to deal with Covid and the implementation of online learning. As we start our transition back into the classroom the materials funded by this grant will allow students to get a jumpstart on their learning with the hands on experiences the cell models, magnets and balloons will provide.”

Explore Learning Subscription for Seventh Grade Science
Funded Sep 16, 2020Academic year 2020/2021 has provided teachers and students with challenges like we could have never imagined. Even the simplest of activities and routines had to be revamped and modified to be effective in the virtual learning environment.
Explore learning has provided rich learning experiences for my students for years but it has been especially well suited for the virtual learning environment.
I am so appreciative that you generosity has made this experience possible for all seventh grade science students for this academic year and much of the 2021/2022.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lucas
