  • Reading Our Way Through Time!

    Thank you for your thoughtful donations. My students were thrilled to receive the Flat Stanley chapter book series. Every day we have a read aloud time that would normally consist of myself reading to the students. However, now that we have a series of books, the students and myself have been sharing in the joy of reading to one another.

    When we received the books we were 100% virtual. Recently our district made the transition to a hybrid learning model. Students that are home can now add books to their home library and students that come to school in person have books that they can enjoy both at home and in the classroom.

  • Zoom Into Hands-on Learning

    Thank you for your thoughtful donations. They have made a huge impact in the educational lives of my students. The students were beyond thrilled to receive their learning supplies. They especially loved the backpacks that all of the supplies came in!

    We are currently learning about telling time. One of the supplies in the backpack was a write on clock with moving hands. Students enjoy being able to experience learning time from a hands on approach.

    Recently our district made the transition from 100% virtual to a hybrid model. Hybrid learning can be challenging because half of the students are at home learning virtually, while the other half is in person. Your donations have made the transition to hybrid learning achievable for all learners because they have the supplies needed to be successful.”

This year technology is king. Since we are 100% virtual it is critical that I have the best technology available to withstand our virtual day. A new laptop will be able to support students with resources such as online leveled libraries, interactive math manipulatives, educational videos, interactive learning websites and the list goes on. Furthermore, it will allow our class to be on Zoom while toggling back and forth between other online educational resources simultaneously. It will increase student engagement and decrease unnecessary wait time. "You're screen is frozen again Mrs. P!" is a statement I hear over and over throughout the day. I have the top speed internet service in my area but the laptop furnished by the school district is not equipped to keep up with demands of Zoom, Google Classroom, and all the virtual resources needed to enrich student learning. My students are resilient, sweet, and eager to learn! Having a laptop equipped for the demands of virtual learning will bridge the gaps and strengthen the connections between me and my students.
