A big part of being a teacher for me is to instill the love of learning in my students. I am an English teacher at a Mandarin-Immersion public school. Our school follows the 50-50 model, which means students get half of their daily instruction in English and half in Mandarin. Students rotate between their English and Mandarin teacher every day. This means that not only do I have the privilege of working with two classes, the amount of instructional time I have with each class is cut short! This alternative teaching situation has led me to finding different ways to make sure that I utilize my instructional time wisely and efficiently so that I can provide the best education to both my classes!
