Let's Learn About Seasons!
Funded May 8, 2023My students were really excited to have their photographs taken and printed! They were also very motivated to label them!
First, we printed some pics and they worked in pairs. They practiced speaking about the clothes they were wearing. Then, we moved to a writing activity. Younger students cut and glued labels in order to show their knowledge of vocabulary related to winter and summer. Other students wrote full sentences to describe their clothes and the weather.
All students were happy to include technology in the classroom! Thank you for your contribution!”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors Corporation and one other donor.Resources for Student to Encourage Participation
Funded Jan 30, 2023I am very excited to share news about the impact of your collaboration!
My students practiced personal questions and "wh- words" by playing games with our dice. They played as a whole group and then in pairs. They used their chips to move from space to space using boards. It was a super fun board game to practice: "What's your name? / Where are you from? / What's your favorite color?"
My students really enjoy participating in class writing their answers in whiteboards and raising the whiteboards so that I can check their answers. Younger students practice their foundational skills with whiteboards, too.
Thank you so much for your collaboration!”

Help My Students Build Our Classroom Library
Funded Jan 31, 2023I am so excited to share news related to this project!
Students can see that five books or more are placed close to the board. I change this every week and move books around. My students now started to ask to read specific books that they have seen placed close to the board! Now, I strategically put them there waiting for the right moment to teach a lesson related to the book and giving them the choice to read what they are interested in reading.
Students have connected to the stories we read. They have shared experiences and identified ELA elements while reading great stories.
Thank you so much for your contribution!”

Classroom Decoration and Organization Materials
Funded Feb 1, 2023Thank you so much for helping my students!
Our classroom decorations made an impact on my students' motivation. The colors, posters and materials to create posters help them with their routines and the acquisition of language.
One special project was related to "The Color Monster". I was able draw the Color Monster showing different emotions with construction paper and laminate each emotion. Students shared their experiences and feelings by holding these materials. I was able to connect with them and listen to them. Students also enjoy singing songs by using voices that resemble someone angry, happy or sad.
Soon we will work with a new song and I will create masks and laminate them so that we can change our masks depending on the emotions that are part of the song.”

Ms. Flores
Resources for Routines and Classroom Posters
Funded Jan 30, 2023My students were really happy to engage in routines that included using all the resources listed as part of the project.
The document camera helps students see handouts on the screen as I model how to complete them. All students can see on the screen what the expectations are. The post it super sticky easel pad has helped us create posters for our classroom and has helped my students work in groups to write about "main characters" and "parts of stories".
We have used the pocket chart as a part of our routines. All students use this daily no matter their age or group. Five different groups benefit from this. Every day we talk about the day of the week and the weather. They are really eager to come to the front and change the information in the pocket chart. They want to say "Monday" and "It's warm!" and change the sentence strips. All of this is possible because of your collaboration.”

Ms. Flores
