  • Puppet Theater Time

    I am thrilled to share the wonderful impact your donation has had on our classroom! The excitement was palpable when my students first saw the new materials, especially the Script Box and the Puppet Theater. We immediately put them to use in a project where students took turns reading aloud, interpreting characters, and bringing stories to life. The combination of performing and reading aloud has been an incredible way to reinforce vocabulary and comprehension skills. Watching my students eagerly dive into their roles, repeating lines with growing confidence, has been a joy.

    The Lakeshore Storytelling Kit, along with the Elephant and Piggie plush toys, has added another layer of engagement. We used these resources to retell classic stories, allowing students to interact with the characters in a hands-on way. The magnetic storytelling board has become a central tool in our classroom, enabling students to visually map out story sequences and explore narrative structures in an interactive manner. These activities have not only improved their reading skills but also boosted their creativity and confidence in public speaking.

  • Snacks to Keep us Focused!

    Thank you so much for your donation! Our students have enjoyed healthy snacks before starting their afternoon lessons. They were specially happy to try apple and mango fruit bars!

    Other groups really enjoyed having a snack before their gym lessons. Fruit bars provided extra energy before engaging in an active class. All students were really excited to try new flavors!

    We also received smaller boxes with cookies and cereal bars that were a highlight of one Friday afternoon. Students from K through 4th enjoyed these treats.”

  • Empowering Young Minds: A Project to Enhance English Language Learning

    Thank you so much for your contribution! We are using our emotion-oes to play at the end of the week and learn vocabulary related to feelings. Our students are engaged in the game. They are having fun and learning! We used our laminated sheets to create resources that are appealing. Students are excited to read, sound out words, match pictures and cvc words!

    When our students first saw the materials, they were very excited! The good news is that the materials can be used by different groups because they are laminated and can last longer. Thank you!”

  • Let's Build a Positive Environment

    Thank you for your contribution! The resources purchases enhance our students' learning experience and social emotional learning.

    Our students enjoy playing a game in which they match Lakeshore Social-Emotional photos to the right adjective. These cards also provide visual support for our ELL students. This resource has enables us to introduce students to diverse emotions, helping them understand and express their feelings in a healthy way. We wrote about our emotions with the use of a prompt: "I feel happy/sad/ frustrated when..." Students wrote a sentence and chose an emoji to represent that. Our students like using the photo library and expressing their emotions.”

  • Growing as a Teacher

    Thank you so much for your contribution! I was able to use different resources to make my lessons more engaging.The interactive activities and games created an immersive learning environment, making language acquisition a dynamic and enjoyable process.

    My students' favorite resource consists of a set of magnetic flashcards. They enjoy reviewing sounds and letters with them. At the beginning of a lesson we review some letters and sounds. The flashcards make this part of the class more memorable and fun! Each student is assigned 2 or 3 flashcards. Then, they pay attention to listen to the sound of their flashcard. Each magnet has a picture, too! This is really helpful to remember the initial sound of a word.”

  • Inspiring Young Readers!

    I am planning to focus our next unit on migration stories. My students will learn about Areli's journey and how she overcame some obstacles once she was in the U.S.

    I believe that stories that resonate with their own stories will help them learn English while also creating memorable experiences. I would like to thank you for your contribution. My students keep a Reading Log where they write about each story they read and focus on genre and authors. They also love rating each story and I am sure they will enjoy reading about Areli.”

    The ELLs I have the privilege of teaching are a remarkable and creative group of young individuals, and I am constantly inspired by their enthusiasm and determination as they embark on their journey of learning English. Your contribution allowed me to directly support my students during this crucial time in their lives when they are often experiencing their first exposure to the English language. The books we selected for our project have played a pivotal role in nurturing their language skills, fostering a deeper understanding of English, and, most importantly, igniting a love for literature.

    Your donation has enabled us to provide multiple copies of the books we are reading in class. This has been an invaluable resource, as it allows our students to take these books home and share the stories with their families over the weekends.
