Breathe Easier
Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students and I will all breathe easier knowing we are doing our best to keep our hands, classroom, and air germ-free.
This year is like no other. We socially distance, keep our masks on, wash hands and sanitize frequently, and clean classroom surfaces throughout the day.
Your generosity is making it possible for us to keep doing everything we can to stay well so we can keep learning!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Allen

Funded Jun 29, 2019"Mrs. Allen, what are those? When do we get to play with them?" My students were so excited when I unpacked the boxes. They could't wait to play with the file folder games, dominos, and cards. They didn't really notice the inflatable globe...at first. However, once it was inflated, they couldn't miss it! They LOVE that globe! Since we learn a lot about geography in Social Studies at the beginning of the year, it gets a lot of use. When we aren't using the globe for a lesson, it hangs prominently from our ceiling so that students can refer to it throughout the day. The games are definitely a favorite, and they allow students to practice skills while having fun! Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! Your support means a lot! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Funded Aug 13, 2019I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donation! Kleenex, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes...so simple, yet so important. My students were so excited when we unpacked the boxes.
"Mrs. Allen, can I just keep a box on my desk...my nose keeps running!" With the ragweed pollen count high most every day lately, those Kleenex get used A LOT. And then, of course, students need to sanitize their hands so they don't spread germs.
Since we eat breakfast in our classroom every day, the Clorox wipes come in handy. We also use them to wipe down door knobs and math manipulatives. Keeping our room clean and germ-free is the key to keeping students healthy and at school!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! To say that your support is appreciated is an understatement.”

Funded Dec 6, 2018Just about every time we start a new lesson, my students want to know if there is a Flocabulary video to go along with it. Many times there are since their videos cover such a wide range of topics. Their favorite video from Flocabulary is the one on food chains. They love it! The video on Idioms is also a favorite. I love that they ask to watch a Flocabulary rap video when we have a couple of extra minutes before lunch or dismissal. The information is presented in such a fun way, and that helps students to be engaged and remember what they learned. Thank you so much for your generous donation.”

Help Our Brains POP With Knowledge!
Funded Nov 27, 2018My students were so excited when I told them our project got funded! BrainPop videos are short and to the point...just what we need when we are learning about something new. The animated videos are great for keeping students' attention.
BrainPop has made a huge impact in science class. The rock cycle, types of rocks, and erosion make so much more sense when students get to see it in action on the videos. Social Studies is much more interesting when they get to learn about the American Revolution and the Constitutional Convention from Tim and Moby.
My students never want to take a quiz...unless it is a BrainPop quiz! Students love to test their knowledge after watching the videos.
Thank you so much for supporting our classroom!”

Growing Readers
Funded Nov 4, 2018My students LOVE coming to reading groups! Whether we are discussing a novel we are reading or practicing reading skills using high-interest passages, this small group instruction is vital to becoming good readers.
Students now have the supplies they need to actively engage in our reading groups. The post-it notes allow students to take plenty of notes and mark the text as they actively read their novels. They can locate evidence in the text and write down their thoughts. The dry erase pockets, markers, and erasers are just what we needed for reading and annotating passages. This also allows us to use much less paper.
Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. Your generosity is very much appreciated.”

Stand-Up Students
Funded Jul 22, 2018"Who gets to use them first?" several of my students asked eagerly. All of my students were so excited when I told them we were getting two standing desks in our classroom. When the desks arrived in their boxes, students wanted to know when they would be put together so we could finally use them. Fortunately, a handy staff member put them together quickly so they didn't have to wait long.
These two standing desks have made a HUGE difference in our classroom. I have several students who have been diagnosed with ADHD, and several other students who just have a difficult time sitting still during instruction. These desks allow for students to get up and move around a little without disturbing other students near them. Those fidget bars for their feet are awesome! They love to swing their feet back and forth while they are working. It allows students to get the wiggles out quietly without distracting the rest of the class.
Everyone gets turns at the standing desks, but some students know to just go back if they feel like they need to. Without a doubt, they are the favorite place to be in our classroom!
Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping me to bring this project to life! These desks will make a big impact in my classroom for many years to come!”

Mrs. Allen
