  • Help Students Overcome Sensory Issues

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for all you help in providing for my students. They will love using the sensory equipment to help them deal with the world. At times, it can be very hard for them to deal with. It will give them a chance to reset and then get back to the classroom .”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pawson

  • Real Life Science

    Funded Feb 13, 2022

Thank you so much. We have started to grow strawberries and are planning are using the berries in our cooking. It is wonderful to see them so excited about learning about the life cycles of plants and animals.

We have started to hatch our eggs, but it has been too soon for the ducks to come. The kids love using the candler to see inside the eggs. It is so much fun to watch the class so involved in learning.

Next year I will have the same students and we will be setting up the beta fish ecosystem. This will help them see how nature works and give them a great experience.”

  • Fun and Creative Expression

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your help in providing my students a way to express themselves. They were so happy to use the paints to fluid paint. Their projects turned out so nice people in the building want to have them show them how to do it too.

Every time I bring the paint out they focus for a long time, which is hard for them.

They can't wait to mix the colors and create. I hope they continue to use this as an outlet for their feeling and creativity, and that it will carry over to the rest of their learning. I want to use art as a way to improve their everyday focus.

    Thank you again.”

  • Hand of Science: Learning Through Play

    Funded Feb 12, 2020

Thank you so much for your support. My students were so excited when the box of materials arrived. We unpacked them and the students were amazed by the magnetic globe and the plasma light.

We are looking forward to using the rest in our science lessons when we get back to our class. I can't wait to use the magnetic balls to build with and learn about magnetism. Also, using the rhythm sticks in our lessons not only to learn about sound, but to help segment sounds and words. These sticks should improve my students skill and attention.

Thank you again for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pawson

  • Flexible Seating and Sensory to Improve Focus

    Funded Sep 2, 2019

Thank you so much for giving my students ways to help focus themselves. They love doing their lessons sitting on the bean bag chairs with the wobble disks inside. When the are upset they like to cuddle up with the weighted cow and it helps them calm down. They have also, found they like giving the cow a ride with the parachute.

However, the best gift given was the microphone. It has encouraged my non-verbal students to make some noise. The one time 3 of them were singing the ABC song with the speech teacher. It was one of the most amazing things I have seen. So, thank you again my students will enjoy your donations for a long time.”

  • Cooking Up Hands-on Learning

    Funded May 8, 2019

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. The kids were so excited when the oven arrived. They couldn't wait to help get is out of the box. They were equally excited when we used it for the first time to make a cake.

They were able to measure and follow directions. They all participated and had fun learning about measurement. Most of them have never helped in the kitchen. They were so happy simply to learn how to crack an egg.

This is a very motivating way for them to learn life skills , math, science and reading. Thank you again.”

  • Urgent Need for New Students’ Success!

    Funded Mar 7, 2019

Your gift has helped my students begin to learn their basic skills. One of the favorite thing they like to work with is the alphabet soup sorting cans. They love working on letter sounds and beginning sounds by sorting the colorful pictures into the cans.

They have used the alphabet puzzle both for learning their A,B,C's and just for fun. I have seen them remember more of their upper and lower case letters, using the puzzle.

They have also enjoyed using the magnetic letters to spell and work on letter sounds. As well as, using the magnetic numbers to count and identify numbers.

But my favorite item has to be the Hot Dots Learning set. This item has given them not only practice on there phonics skills, but a sense of independence. They are able to work by themselves with this self correcting tool.

Thank you so much for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pawson

All of my students have come from different classes and moved in the middle of the year. They have had to go through another 1st day of school. I had to switch gears and go from a 3rd grade academic class to a K-2 community based class. Unfortunately, there are few materials for the new class because of the time of year. These students have adapted well to all this change, and it would be an amazing gift to them to have materials to expand their learning. They are working hard to learn their letters and the sounds that they make. Many of the items such as, the phonic readers, magnetic letters and the Hot Dot Phonics will help push their learning farther.
