Calming Area
Funded Apr 3, 2023This donation went beyond my expectations! They loved the new set up and enjoyed the resources. This center provided a timer, picture books, relaxing sitting, soothing colors, and sensory items.
I explained to them that this is a space where they can come and calm down when ever they had big feelings and/or a moment to themselves. My goal for this center was to allow them to independently go and use the resources appropriately. I'm very proud that my students have learned the purpose of this center. They freely go to the center when they are not well; they say things like "Teacher, calm center? Take deep breaths? I need timer teacher?"
To expand on this center I will continue to look for prevention strategies, work on verbal cues, and picture prompts.”

Funded Dec 1, 2022Thank you once again for your generous donation. Our students are excited to have a tablet for themselves in small groups. I think just having the chance of holding and using it excites them. I have a couple of students who were eager and scared to use it at the same time; but they warmed up to it.
Our students are learning to navigate the tablets and work independently. Aside from independency they are being exposed to academic programs where they are learning to trace, do math skills (i.e. counting, sorting, patterns), literacy skills, and music appreciation.
Once again, thank you for allowing my students to have this experience.”

Back to School
Funded Sep 7, 2022Once again I would like to thank you for your generous donations. My students were super anxious to explore our new materials. Our science center has been growing and improving. Their first favorite item was the science viewers (so glad I got the classroom set). They like looking through the lens and seeing the ocean animals. Another favorite item of theirs now is the Real Bug Discovery set. At first they were a little scared about touching it cuz they thought it was alive but now they like seeing the bugs with the magnifying glasses. Overall, I am very happy with the project and love that my students are enjoying it. The next step would be to grow my science center; maybe with some science books.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Valhalla Foundation.Reading PAL's!
Funded Nov 10, 2021Our classroom has new books and a reading bench!! We have new books in math, vocabulary, sensory, and social stories; and of course classic books which children are familiar with.
All of our students were excited and it was definitely a preferred center to explore. Our students have a comfy place to sit and view books. They recognized a few of the classic books and were eager to just go through all of the books. It was great to see how students did puppet shows and retold stories to each other.
I'm just beyond excited to see their interaction that I plan on expanding our library with props, new puppets, more books of interest, and unit books.”

I plan to make our library more resourceful with more books of interest and unit books. I would like to expand our library with a couple of more pieces of furniture, props, and new puppets.
Our students reacted with joy and excitement when they first entered the classroom. It was definitely a preferred center to explore. Our students have a comfy and place to sit and view books. It was great to see how students did puppet shows and retold stories.”

Funded Jan 14, 2021Thank you! A million times thank you for your generous donations. Our students and families were excited to receive a goodie bag filled with crayons, watercolors, glue sticks, pompoms, and much more.
With your donations I was able to provide hands on resources for my students and their parents. We did projects such as art, math, and language arts. As they did their projects we were able to engage with our students and hear them speak about what they are doing. Our main goal for our students is to practice using language! And they were so talkative when explaining their craft work. We will continue to do hands on projects to keep them active and interested and so far it is working.
Once again thank you!”

Visuals in Color!
Funded Oct 20, 2020Thank you for donating to this project. At this time it is very crucial to continue to engage students in hands on activities. With your donations I was able to put together a learning binder.
The learning binder was filled with activities with math, language arts, science, and manipulative activities. It helped my students stay engaged while at home with parents. The learning binder is also a good way for parents to participate in their children's education.
Once again thank you for your generous donations.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020Thank you all for your kind donations. We've been participating in virtual learning for the past few months. It has been very difficult for my students, parents, assistants, and myself to make virtual learning interesting and interactive. Unfortunately, our families were limited on technology and resources; therefore my staff and I needed to come up with an engaging activity at home.
My students range from 3-5 years old and have disabilities. So therefore, I planned on something hands on for them and provided visuals. My assistants and I came up with an activity binder with velcro and color visuals. With your donations I began the learning activity binder for my students to continue learning at home. It includes math, science, language arts, fine motor activities and on. I noticed that it keeps them engaged at home during synchronous time. I'm glad they understood the concepts of the learning binder.
The learning binder has been a success and my students appear to enjoy it during live sessions as well as when they are logged off at home. I kindly thank you all for contribution. Many thanks from all of us in our PAL classroom.”

Funded Aug 26, 2019My students have enjoyed their new center activities. They were excited and clapping when I showed them the box and said "we have new toys to learn with." As I showed them all the new materials they were adorably saying "wow" and "I want that one." Aside from getting new materials from the classroom I love seeing how they just love to experiment with anything I provide them with.
They have been able to work independently in centers and with teacher guidance. They were most interested in the shake science cards. These cards allow them to build critical thinking skills with the riddle/question in the back of each picture (which is read by one of the teachers). All the new materials provide opportunities of problem solving skills. There interest in the new materials shows how grateful they are for receiving new classroom materials. We are all very thankful for all donations.”

PAL Readers!
Funded Nov 28, 2017A million thanks to all my donors!! My students were very excited with our new library. Reading in my classroom consist of all the children speaking over each other. But that to me shows their enthusiasm and interest in books. My students with sensory necessities enjoy the "touch and feel" books. With our new books we have been able to expand our units in the creative curriculum. These books are much more appropriate and appealing to my students and they enjoy "reading" it to themselves and their peers. In addition to our books, we also received magnet tiles that helped them build a "castle" and a "maze." This shows the necessity of materials needed to expand their imagination. Overall, my students and the teachers are very thankful and excited with our new materials.”
