Paint and Sip Club Supplies
Funded Dec 3, 2024Thank you so much for your donations for our Paint and Sip Club. It is so great to use our Club Fridays to be creative and paint with the students to create fun art projects. Here are all the ways we have been using the materials.
We use the clipboards to help students paper stay steady and also as a hard surface for them to paint. The students use the different sizes in paintbrushes in different art projects such as painting their own snowfalls using the small brush to using the large brush to create geometrical lines using paper and tape to peel off. The smocks are used to make sure that students clothes are protected and the cleaning solution helps us to clean up after we have finished painting. It can get messy but the students enjoy creating something new during Club Fridays.
The next steps for our project is using the materials to create art projects that they can share with family members or for special occasions such as Mother Day, Fathers Day and graduation. We hope to continue to enjoy our Club Fridays with the students and create more art projects. Thank you again for your donations towards our Donors Choose project. Continue to SOAR to greater heights!”

Funded Aug 14, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donations to help and support my project all about making small groups effective for my students with various needs. Small group are very effective at helping students learn the materials using differentiation and peer to peer interactions. I love having small groups in my classroom because it helps me to create different work that best suits my students needs and the materials that I requested helps the students to learn.
The expo makers work will with the dry erase pockets that are at each small group station. The students use the dry erase markers and pockets to complete worksheet practices and can reuse the same worksheet without needing to print multiple worksheets for practice. The baskets are used to organize the materials that students use in the small groups (tablets, reading books, etc). We ended up using the ID tag holders for the students ID card that they wear at school everyday to ensure their safety as we share the school with other schools.
A specific moment that we used the materials was in our reading fluency station. My students practice using academic vocabulary to identify definitions, identify correct pictures and sentences using vocabulary words and to create their own sentences. Students use the dry erase markers to complete the worksheet practices and they read the monthly text to help understand the vocabulary in context. These materials definitely help the students to practice and learn in small groups while keeping it organized so that each student can grab their materials.
Thank you again for your generous donation toward my project. It only does it help me to be a more effective teacher but it helps my students to learn and grow while having differentiation and practice within their small groups. Keep SOARing!”

Funded Dec 20, 2023Thank you for your generous monetary donations for providing flexible seating options within our classroom. The students appreciate using the stools when they get into stations for small group assignments. Having the flexible seating option allows students to make a choice on how they want to join in a group. Also, it helps the students when they want to join a space. The students appreciate having the option. Some of my students prefer using the chairs already provided in the classroom but most like using the stools. One of my students who was having a hard time sitting down while in the station now enjoys coming into each station and using the stool to join in. At first, the students were used to having the chairs in the station, but now, my students enjoy having easy access to a place to sit when they go into station.
One next step that we have with our project is to continue using the stools as a choice for students to use and to see if a majority of students stay focus when completing tasks at assigned stations. I believe that the progress that one of my students made in terms of staying focused in his stations and completing his work can help us see the future success of the other students to stay focused in their stations while completing their work. We appreciate helping your monetary support to help our students flex with their learning.”

Tech'd out V45
Funded Oct 11, 2023Thank you so much for your support in helping our classroom receive tablets and headphones. The technology is helping our students become independent learners by using websites and apps to help them with their learning. For students with disabilities, it is my job as a teacher to help my students be independent as much as possible. The tablets helps them to learn different skills related to their IEP and work on them in their learning stations. Since receiving the tablets and headphones, 9 out of my 11 enrolled students have made progress in their IEP goal and 5 out of 11 students have met their IEP goal for the year in at least one subject area.
The students enjoy using the tablets. One students said "Now that we have tablets, can we use Epic Reading?" a digital library app. Students enjoy listening to books and reading on Epic reading. As a teacher, using the quiz feature on Epic reading allows students to assess what they read about, building their reading comprehension skills. Also, we use Kahoot, a game based learning app, where students can answer multiple choice questions to gain points. During our math lesson, students get the chance to use their tablets to play Kahoot with each other. Not only does Kahoot helps students to answer questions based on the mini lesson that was taught, Kahoot can teach students how to work as a team, build communication skills and shows students how to be a good player.
My students have enjoyed using the tablets since they got it. One students enjoys playing Kahoot with his friends during math lesson. He always tries to get a high score at the end of each round. Also, he has been making progress with his behavior. He lets students know that its okay to try again when they get an incorrect answer and also when he doesn't win, he takes a deep breath and tells himself that he can try again next time. Another student likes reading on Epic reading. Epic reading has some great comic books for students to read and she likes to read the comic books. Another students, enjoys watching educational videos on BrainPop.
We are grateful for all of your donations to help us get our tablets. Thank you!”

Mrs. Janine
