Flexible Seating for Success!
Funded Nov 8, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution. The contributions allowed us to buy stools for our classroom. This stools have adjustable heights allowing the students to adjust them to their perfect height for optimal penmanship. It also also my after school students that are a different age to adjust to a perfect height. The other feature of the chairs are that they wobble. This allows fidgety students to be able to focus more.
The students were impressed and excited when they saw the stools. They could not wait for their turn to try them out. Thank you for adding this joy and excitement to my classroom.
We are nearing the part of the year sere we will do a few classroom dissections. These stools will allow them to work more freely and at just the right angles. Again, thank you for improving the students work areas.”

Scalpel Please! Their First Cuts May Lead to Tomorrow’s Cures!
Funded Sep 13, 2018Your generosity made it possible for my students to enter the world of lab sciences. They were super excited about the prospect of being able to see inside the bodies of living things. They could hardly contain themselves as we opened the boxes of gloves and the dissection tools. Then it got real.
Our first project was the dissection of a chicken foot. We had just finished building mechanical hands and they had learned about muscles, ligaments and bones. It was important for them to understand how these components worked within a system. Being able to see how they attached to one another and being able to pull ligaments and see the bones respond was huge. The tentatively made their first cuts and by the end of the hour they were fully engrossed.
The second project began with the same sense of uncertainty. But when they were able to pull the lens from the cows eye and see that the image was indeed inverted and that it actually magnified things, they were super eager for more.
Thank you for helping provide a vehicle to super-engaged students. I heard some of them talking about wanting to learn more about jobs in medicine and medical research. Thank you for being a catalyst for growth and possibilities.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Townsend
