Currently, in our classroom, we have two computers of which none have cameras to access QR readers. There are unlimited free and low-cost content online to help differentiate students’ learning using QR readers. Specifically, I am particularly interested in online books read aloud to children which would add to our very poor classroom listening center library. This is just one way we would use these two tablets daily. Our school also has purchased a very good computer program which would allow our students to practice Spanish skills at their own level, but with only two computers in the classroom, it makes it very difficult for all the children to access the program.
In a world as technologically advanced as we have now and how technological savvy students are coming into our classrooms nowadays, teachers need to take advantage of technology to help our students reach their maximum potential. Whether it’s to extend their learning, small group instruction, differentiated instruction, there are countless ways technology could be used in a classroom to help every student succeed.
