“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss In my classroom, I seek to ignite and foster a love for reading and continuous learning in every child. In order to do this, I believe students need just right books that are diverse in content and genre. Each of my students have unique talents, interests and walks of life. It is my hope to help them find books in which they can relate, books that spark their imagination, and books that help them grow as future leaders, teachers, doctors, athletes or any other dreams they may have. By adding this list of books to my classroom, I hope to engage students as reading, spark wonder, and ignite a love for reading. As children learn to read, they often find it easier to do so out-loud. In a classroom with 22 students, reading can easily become noisy. Whisper phones will allow students who need to read out-loud to do so. I believe that each student in my classroom has a different environment in which they work best. For some, that is at their desk. For others, it may be sitting in a comfy chair, bean bag, or spread around the room on the floor. By adding 2 Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats, I hope to offer even more spaces for my students to engage in collaboration and learning. Please help our class grow as readers who love and are passionate about books!
