Listening Center
Funded Oct 5, 2011I want to start by saying thank you on behalf of myself, students and colleagues. From day one listening to audiobooks always relaxed my students. At first I was in charge of putting a cd in the player and taking out the story for a read aloud. This was because i had to search for the materials scattered around our classroom library. Once we received the listening center (you donated) we set up our radio, headphones, cds, tapes and books all in one place. Now my students can actually find a book in the listening center and put the cd on all by themselves! My students are learning how to be responsible for the materials they use everyday. Thank you for helping me help my students become more organized and independent!”

5 Year Olds = Laminator
Funded Aug 27, 2011I want to start by saying thank you on behalf of my students, colleagues and I. We completed our "I like..." place mats and they are laminated (made possible by you). The children are so proud of their place mats. It began as a social studies project and then carried over into writing workshop. When my students had difficulty thinking about what they "like," they referred to the "I like" place mat to help them write. I can see that this project will help my students for the rest of the school year!
When i started this thank you note i included my colleagues gratitude because they have also visited my classroom and used the laminator for their own projects as well! You helped me and therefore, i want to help them by sharing the equipment.
I have used the laminator for charts around my classroom and plan to use it with ABC letter cards soon. Thank you for making all of this possible and for caring about children's education.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Vargas
