I am a teacher in a Title I school. 100% of my students qualify to receive free breakfast and lunches. Many of my students live in either low-income homes, shelters, motels, or are living with other families. I have numerous students who speak English as their second language and others that have special needs. Despite these difficulties, my students come to school eager to learn. They have so much love to share with me and with others. The curriculum that my students face is both rigorous and promotes skills to create 21st century learners. I'm not only differentiating my lessons to meet the students where they are, but I am also preparing them for future years of schooling, and the challenging work environment they will eventually face. Collaborating with others is a major skill set to master. I want to be able to give them every opportunity possible to learn, grow, and succeed.
