  • Tablet for Technology For Students With Disabilities

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Since the day our class received the iPad, we have been using it daily for a variety of different activities. Parents have been receiving pictures of class activities and school wide assemblies. Having a good home-school connection is very important to us.

The teachers in the classroom use the iPad to monitor student progress throughout the lessons by utilizing a checklist on the excel app. Additionally, we plan Kahoot interactive games for our students- which they love! Throughout lessons, we use the iPad for anchor charts in small groups for our special education students.

I can't wait to learn different applications to use that can better enhance our classroom education. Thank you again, your kindness has not gone unnoticed!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Argento-Athanasopoulos

  • More Engaging Lessons with New Technology

    Funded Feb 21, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation. I am ecstatic to be able to provide better lessons and activities for my students. Working in a low income neighborhood can be challenging at times and your generosity has made it simpler for me. Planning lessons has now become a whole lot easier and more efficient since I no longer have to restart my laptop in the middle of lesson planning and writing individualized education plans.

This laptop with the latest technology is a tremendous asset for myself and my students. Now I have the ability to create meaningful lessons using multiple platforms where my students can actively engage in their learning.

Given that I teach students with various disabilities, they love when I present visuals and video during lessons and project my laptop onto the promethean board. They love interactive lessons where they get to use technology. Your generosity did not go unnoticed and I greatly appreciate it.”

  • Help Us See in Color!

    Funded Feb 14, 2022

I greatly appreciate your generosity. Having a colored printer and ink is so important to make my classroom look more lively. The students love having a feelings chart for social emotional learning in color now. I noticed that they are more engaged when completing worksheets.

This donation was so beneficial for my special education students. They need visuals such as personal schedule charts and behavior charts and having them in color is much more appealing. Thank you so much and my students thank you as well. Your kindness does not go unnoticed.”

  • Library and Supply Bins

    Funded Jan 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and donating to my classroom during these difficult times. My students were so excited to get their own personal supply bins. This allowed them to be more sanitary throughout COVID learning. They keep their personal white boards, markers and erasers in the bins. This avoided a lot of sharing. Each bin is labeled with their names so that they know which one to grab. Our classroom library has become so much more organized and students are able to find their level books more easily now. When the adults in the room opened up the delivery the students faces lit up. They were so happy to get these bins.”

  • Cricut to Display Children's Creative Work!

    Funded Jan 30, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students are so eager to learn how to use this Cricut. They are so excited to be able to create different decorations for the classroom. Additionally, they will love to create and design things as gifts for their parents. The Cricut will enhance their academic and artistic abilities. I can't wait to see see how my students express themselves.

These students are looking forward to displaying their work on bulletin boards. Now their imagination can come to life. Additionally, I will be able to organize the classroom better for the students. We thank all donors and can't wait to share pictures so that you can see how your donation impacted our learning!”

  • Get a Classroom Carpet and Keep It Clean

    Funded Mar 23, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students are thrilled to be able to lay on the floor comfortably and not get dirty. They are able to take clip boards and complete writing pieces on the carpet and read independently. If they need a break from instructional time they are able to take five minutes on the carpet. Now when I do read alouds I am able to gather my class onto the carpet where there are less distractions instead of having them sit at their desks. Students are more focused and less fidgety.

My students take turns vacuuming the carpet every day. Learning these life skills is very important for special education students. We ensure that no bed bugs or lice will be spread. They are so happy to be able to help around the classroom. Thank you again for your kind hearted donation for my students. It is greatly appreciated!”

  • Snacks For Energy

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your kind hearted act. Having snacks donated to my classroom has made such a difference in my students lives. Some children who have never brought in their own snack now look forward to getting to eat mid-day. When I first opened the closets with the snacks in them, their faces dropped. One child screamed, "Is that for us???" They were ecstatic.

If a child does not have a snack I let them choose one a day from the choices that are in the closet. Having options is a huge plus considering every student likes different snacks. These students are now able to concentrate better throughout the day. Additionally, they are more attentive during lessons and class discussions. Thank you again for your generous donation. My class and I are very grateful!”

  • Students With Disabilities Need Comfortable Seats To Learn!

    Funded Aug 24, 2018

Thank you so much for these amazing bean bags. Your kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated. My students were out of the classroom when I took them out of the box and put them around the room. When they came back and saw them, they were SO excited. One student ran inside the room to be the first one to test them out.

I always knew flexible seating would be beneficial to my students but I did not know the extent of it. My students are able to sit down and read or write for almost double the amount of time then sitting in their desks. Additionally, they focus for longer. The jumbo ones are fantastic because sometimes two students can sit on one at the same time for partner work.

My class and I use the bean bags everyday multiple times a day. During reading students sit on them to listen to me read a book or they use it when reading independently. During writing, students take a clipboard and sit on the bean bags to complete their writing activity. They are so much more comfortable and engaged in their work. Additionally, if a students completes their work they are allowed to sit on one for the next activity so it motivates them to complete classwork.”
