  • My Students Need Some Things to Count On! (Calculators)

    Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! I teach a variety of 9th-12th grade mathematics, and it has been extremely difficult without calculators!

    I tell my students that using a calculator is a real skill that they will need post-high school, and I'm so excited to be able to provide them with more learning materials!

    I've been working the past 2 years with only 15 calculators but class sizes of 25+, so I often have students race to my class because they want to be able to use a calculator.

  • Guided Note-Taking Tools

    Thank you so much for contributing to this project! As a first year teacher, I feel like there are so many things I want to do for my students, but I don't always have the resources.

    I have three "inclusion" classes, which are classes with about 30% students with special needs, and simple accommodations such as having worksheets in different colors, having the list of vocabulary words posted on the wall, or color coding the notes I write on the whiteboard make a huge difference in their learning.

    I've already started to print and laminate some terms for our "Word Wall," and I'm so excited for you to see the photos!”

I teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Data Science. My Algebra 1 and Geometry students would benefit from seeing definitions of commonly used words and phrases such as "congruent, theorem, postulate, inequalities, etc." on the walls! Data Science requires coding skills. The code has to be written very specifically and carefully, and a "Word Wall" where students can look to see helpful hints will be useful. Students who struggle with vision or note-taking skills will benefit greatly with these tools. I will also use the laminator to keep student work that I post up on the walls secure and safe.
