A Breath of Fresh Air
Funded Mar 13, 2021Thank you for providing my class with air purifiers. This has helped in keeping us safe. The students have returned to school after 18 long months of distance learning. Although it is difficult at times with the masks and restrictions, there is no other place the children and I would rather be.
The air purifiers have added an extra layer of protection for the children. They help circulate the air in the classroom well. It's amazing to see the amount of particles the purifiers catch in their filters.
We are hoping for the best this year and so glad that you helped us prepare for the worst. Again, we thank you wholeheartedly for your kindness and generosity.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. G.
Let’s Do This!
Funded Oct 22, 2020Thank you for your generous support. It has been a challenging time for us this year. Although the students have adapted to school online, they long for their friends and classroom.
Your contribution to our school has helped motivate the students to complete their assignments and reading. Students are very exited to receive their incentives. We have enough incentives to get us through the end of the year.
I have included photos of the students at a virtual field trip to a museum. As you can see, the students have been making the best of this situation.
Thank you again for your kindness and support.”

Mrs. G.

Funded Sep 16, 2020I would like to thank you for your contribution to our class. It has been such a difficult year for the students and their families. It brings joy and hope when we receive love and care from our fellow Americans. We cannot wait to be in the classroom once it is safe.
The headsets have made it possible for students to hear their lessons uninterrupted. We were also able to purchase additional items like a classroom audio system which will allow me to speak to my students clearly even while wearing a mask. This will be useful once we return to campus.
The pictures I included are of some of the virtual field trips we have experienced as well as student learning.
Once again, I thank you for your generosity and your dedication to LA kids and teachers.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. It has made a difference in the lives of my students. Learning from home is challenging especially for my students with limited resources.
One of the online challenges for students is the ability to be on two separate programs at the same time. Many of the devices provided by the school district could not handle running two programs simultaneously. The Fire Tablets provided by your kindness has made running two programs possible. It allows my students to watch my broadcast on one device while working on the second device.
It has made such a difference in the ability for students to learn and work at the same time. I am incredibly humbled and thankful for this act of kindness.”

Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you for all your generosity and kindness. The students were very happy to have their school supplies. They use the supplies regularly to organize their materials. As a teacher, it has helped me tremendously. Students are able to find their materials easily. Many of our students spend the school day in a home other than their own. The pencil boxes and lap desks allow for students to move their learning space from one home to another.
Teaching through a pandemic has been challenging but the kindness from donors such as yourself has made it possible. Our students are getting what they need and learning is happening. This would have not been possible with the limited resources provided by our school district. Thank you again for your generosity.”

Funded Aug 11, 2020I am humbled by your kindness especially during these difficult times. Teaching through a pandemic has been challenging and exhausting but the support provided by donors like you has made things manageable.
The light and clips for the green screen has allowed me to make quality "How To" videos for the families of my students. Parents are challenged everyday with learning educational programs and troubleshooting their children's devices. I made video for parents to learn how to navigate our learning management system that contains all our student educational programs.
Your kindness has helped my students and their families learn how to navigate through online learning. Thank you so much for all your generosity.”

Funded Jun 28, 2020I would like to thank you for your generous donation to my project. Your donation has allowed me help my students in a variety of ways. The iPad case has made it possible for me to view content on the iPad easily. It has a convenient stand that can prop the iPad up for a better view. There were so many components that needed to be learned this school year. The iPad made it possible to view what the students are seeing on Zoom.
The Apple pencil has made it easy to write on an iPad screen I use a virtual whiteboard to explain concepts and lessons. The pencil allows me to write clearly on the virtual whiteboard that students clearly see through Zoom.
We as teachers have had to assess students online as well. This has been a difficult task because it requires the use of multiple devices at once. One device is used to display assessments to students and the other is used for assessing. The iPad case and pencil have helped with this task. It made it manageable to assess the children.
Once again, I would like to thank you supporting my student and I during these
difficult times.”

Funded Jun 28, 2020I would like to thank you and show my appreciation for your generosity. I really love being an educator and working with students. It is rewarding and fulfilling. With all the budget constraints and limited resources, programs such as Donors Choose are vital for our success. I am grateful for the partnerships that have been established through this site
The funding of my project has given me equipment that has made it easier to teach virtually. I have a computer stand that raises my computer to eye level. My students are looking at me face on. The iPad stand has a rotating base that allows for movement during lessons.
Once again, I thank you wholeheartedly for your generous donation.”

Funded Jun 28, 2020I cannot thank you enough for donating to my project. Having a fully functional iPad has been a true blessing. It has made teaching virtually possible. The students respond better and remain attentive when I can deliver lessons without technical difficulties.
The iPad has so many features that aid in teaching. The use of a touch screen allows me to display and change content quickly and easily. The ability to write directly on the screen has helped me assess students paperlessly. Educational apps that display learning videos have helped my students learn content in a variety of ways.
Once again, I thank you for providing me with the tools needed to teach LA kids.”

Funded Jun 25, 2020I am humbled by your generosity and appreciative of your efforts to support my class. Your donation made it possible for our students to be prepared on the first day of class.
On the first day of school, students had their supplies organized in a container. They had a lap desk to write on. They had a backpack to hold their journals and books.
The parents have been supportive and cooperative. They came to our school to pick the donations for their children before the first day of school.
Although the first few weeks of virtual learning were challenging, the students were able to adapt to online learning. They are true champs and I couldn't be more proud of them.
Once again, I thank you for supporting LA kids and public education.”
