Math Games Make Math Fun
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your donation! My students enjoying playing these math games not only during math, but during free time and inside recess. Students from other classes have started borrowing the games as well because word spread that they are fun to play.
My students are learning so much more than math, they are learning team work, patience, and to have a growth mindset. The students enjoy playing both 24 Game and Mobi in teams and in pairs. The math games also help reinforce my students multiplication, division, addition and subtraction facts. The difference set of 24 Game are fantastic because they allow students to expand their knowledge for the game after they have mastered the basic single version. My students enjoy the competitive nature of 24 Game because it forces them to focus on the cards and makes them think. Mobi specifically has given my students a better understanding of crossword puzzles.
Thank you again for your donation, you have helped make math fun in my classroom!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you very much for your generous donation. My students this past year loved having the Hokki Stools in the room. My incoming students are excited to be able to use them this year because they heard from last years students "how awesome they are". I asked my incoming students what they had heard about the Hokki Stool and wanted to share what they said. My incoming students told me "they help you focus on your work", "you don't have to stay perfectly still all day because on the stool you can tip back and forth", and "that they are fun and help you stay focused on your work". Having these stools in my room have already excited future students around the school. Thank you for helping me create a positive learning environment in my room. Thank you for helping me create an environment where the students are excited to enter the room because they know the room has the material they need to learn.”

Funded Mar 8, 2018I cannot begin to Thank you enough for your generous donation. The Hokki stools have made a huge difference in my classroom environment. Students that previously were tipping chairs and not focusing in class are engaged in lessons and completing work. Students that were not participating in class are now active participants in the room. All the students in my room enjoy using these stools and many have become more confident while using them. While learning about persuasive writing many students choose to write their essay on why we should have more Hokki stools in the classroom and why we need them in the room. Students wrote that they feel more confident while using them. Students also wrote that sitting on a Hokki stools helps them not blurt in class, helps them stop tipping their chair, makes them happier, and makes them want to be at school. Thank you again for your generous donation the Hokki stools have made a huge difference in my classroom.”

Funded Mar 8, 2018My class and I can't begin to thank you enough for your generous donation. My students have enjoyed traveling around the world with our new atlases. The atlases have taught my students how to read a political map, a population density map and many other different styles of maps. The students have been able to Mystery Skype with classrooms all over the United States and used the atlases to identify not only what state we were skyping with, but also able what town. Using the atlases in class has also shown my student that there is a world outside of our small town and many students have expressed that they want to travel all fifty states. Thank you again for the world you have opened up to my students with your generous donation.”

It's TIME for Kids Magazine!
Funded Aug 20, 2017Thank you so much for helping my class see and learn about the world. My students love reading the newest Time For Kids magazine. Reading Time For Kids the students have learned about natural disasters that have happened recently and in history, that "writing with pictures" is not new, and about self-driving cars. The students loved the articles about scientists trying to bring prehistoric animals back to life, they had a great discussion after reading the article and many students decided they want to be a scientist when they grow up. We have read articles from all over the world exposing my students to other cultures, many students decided that they wanted to visit Sweden after reading the article so that they could experience the culture for themselves.
Thank you again for providing my students with this opportunity.”

Funded Mar 29, 2017I can't begin to thank you enough for your generous donations. You have changed my classroom learning environment in ways that I can not properly express with words. You have also changed my teaching and my students learning in an amazing way. My students are able to see the board and connect with the material because it is the same document they have in front of them. We no longer have to wash transparencies, we just put the worksheet under the document camera and get to work.
My students love being able to zoom into science experiments and show their math thinking to the class. Students now love coming up and showing how they found their answer to a question or demonstrating a science experiment. They especially like that the document camera hooks up to our microscopes allowing the students to share their microscopic organisms.
The students love having the document camera as a resource in the classroom. Everyday we find new ways to use the document camera in our learning.
The students love that they can "actually see the answers and examples on the board". That the document camera "doesn't get blurry when you zoom in", "it's easy to use", and "it makes math easier".
Thank you so very much!”
