• Comfy, Clean, and Organized

  Years later, my students are still reaping the benefits of this project. The padded cushions were helpful to my students while sitting on the cold floor. This was especially helpful on a cold day. The colors were fun and brightened everyone's day.

  Years later, I'm still using the storage carts to help organize cushions that were newly purchased. It keeps my room looking neat, clean, and organized so learning can continue in an optimal learning environment.

  The cushions lasted for years, and the storage carts continue to be in great condition. I expect to use them for many many more years to come.

• Got Books?

  Thank you for donating to my project, "Got Books." My classroom received a class set of books of Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland. My students are all so very excited about reading these chapter books. They are so very appreciative and grateful of the people who have donated to our project and have helped to enrich their learning experiences. Having these books incorporated into my curriculum has engaged my students in reading. They read in pairs and work collaboratively to produce projects related to their reading and the themes that are reinforced throughout the books. Thank you once again, for making all of this possible and supporting education and literacy.”

• Need Books and CDs for Our Listening Center

  Funded Jan 23, 2013

  My students have had the privilege of using the two boxes of books with CDs for over a month now. You'll be happy to know that my students have been happily using these books with CDs to enhance their reading curriculum. Students visit the listening centers in pairs and are able to experience the joy of reading through a different medium. The end of the year is approaching, and I'll be receiving another group of students who will be able to enjoy and learn from this read along center of books with CDs. I'm am so grateful for donors like you who make experiences like this available and accessible to my students this year and many more children who will enter my classroom in the future.”

• Inspire Learning and Creativity Using Technology

  Thank you once again for donating to our project, "Inspire Learning and Creativity Using Technology." We have used the camera to document student learning, post pictures, and create slideshows. Recently, we used the camcorder to record Greek mythological presentations. Recording their performances and presentations and playing them back immediately, gives them a way to review their presentation skills and critique their performances.

• Art Essentials

  Soon after we received the art supplies from Donor's Choose, we began using the acrylic paints and paint brushes right away. After studying ancient Egyptian society and culture, the 6th graders painted portraits depicting themselves as ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Prior to painting, they studied ancient Egyptian crowns and learned the meaning and story behind each.

  At a time of budget cuts, especially in the Arts, your donations are vital in keeping art in the classroom. It has enriched the lives of many students and continues to be a tool in learning about the world around us.”
