  • Bring Color To Our Classroom

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for donating for the color printer. Having the color printer has been such a great addition to our classroom. I am now able to print in color tools and charts that students can use to help them with different lessons. This is really useful for some students who benefit from having things color coded.

Recently, my class worked on Women's History Month projects where they created a presentation about someone who they thought is influential. I was able to print their projects in color, and post them up in our Bulletin Board. This would not have been possible without your help.”

  • Smile for the Camera

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for donating for the camera. I have been taking pictures of the students during special events. These pictures will be used for the yearbook, as well as an end of the year video, highlighting special moments in fifth grade. Parents and students will be able to see these pictures during the graduation ceremony.

We have many exciting events planned for our graduating fifth graders towards the end of the year. I will be able to capture these moments using the camera we received. This would not have been possible without your help.”

  • Coding Is Fun

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I can't wait to have these STEM materials so that my students can have the opportunity to learn to code, which will help them develop critical thinking skills. Introducing my students to the foundations of coding will open so many opportunities for them down the road. Thank you for making this possible.”

  • iPad for Learning

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. I can't wait to receive the iPad so my students can use the different apps to enhance their learning. The iPad will also be a great tool to use during small group instructions. This would not have been possible without your donation.”

  • Headphones for Learning!

    Funded May 5, 2020

The headphones will be very useful for my students when we return in the classroom. Since I am working from home, and my students are all fully remote, we have not been able to use them yet this school year. When we return back to school hopefully in September, the students will be able to use the headphones so that they can focus while using their devices to complete work using technology. We use technology a lot, including for assessments such as I-Ready.

Last year, we did not have enough headphones in the classroom. Many students could not afford to buy their own. It is great that now we will have a class set of headphones to use. Thank you so much!”

  • Document Camera

    Funded Sep 25, 2020

The document camera has been an amazing tool to have while teaching remotely. It allows me to show students books and worksheets so they can follow along. It also allows me to use a small whiteboard with the document camera during math so that I can model how to solve problems step by step. The students are able to see what I'm teaching clearly and close up. I never realized how useful a document camera can really be until I had to teach from home. Thank you so much for donating and making this possible.”

  • Learning Remotely

    Funded Oct 9, 2020

The materials for this project have been so useful during remote teaching. I am able to use the whiteboard with the markers, and the erasable notebooks in order to teach students from home. These materials have made it possible for me to model how to do something the same way I would in a classroom. Showing students how to solve something step by step using the whiteboard is so much better then just showing them presentations from my computer. This year has been a difficult year with all the changes due to the pandemic. It's great to have these materials available like we would in the classroom. Thank you for making it possible.”

  • An Apple for the Teacher

    Funded Dec 16, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Having the laptop has been very useful, especially during remote teaching. The laptop that the school had provided for me would often not work properly, so having this laptop has made teaching remotely much more stress free.

I use the laptop to teach my students from home as well as to learn for myself how to be a better educator. I have used it to take professional development classes to improve my teaching skills. In addition, I use it to have video meetings with my students, check their work and create lessons using Google Slides and PowerPoint. Without your donations, this would not have been possible. I really appreciate it!”

  • Where Do We Sit?

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

My students were so excited to hear that our project got funded. When the boxes arrived, a few of them opened the boxes and were thrilled. We used the seat cushion right away. My students love how comfortable the seat cushions are. Now no one has to sit on the floor.

Students take turns rotating to use the seat cushions so that everyone gets a chance. I can tell that they get very excited to sit on them. The clipboards have also been a great addition to our classroom. My students can work in groups and sit where they are comfortable, while using the clipboards to complete their work.

We are truly grateful for all of your help in helping fund our project. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. D.

  • Cozy Classroom!

    Funded May 26, 2017

Thank you so much for your donations. The students were so happy and grateful when we received the table, chairs, and cushions. The cushions were their favorite because that meant that they did not have to sit on the floor anymore. I had already purchased a foam mat, however it was not big enough to fit everyone. Now that we have the seat cushions, everyone has a place to sit in the meeting area.

The kidney table and the chairs are also a great addition to our classroom. Now I am able to pull a small group to work with me in this table. I work with them during math, reading and writing. It is so much easier to have a separate table to work with my small group, rather than asking students to move around at different tables. Sometimes, students also use this table to sit when they really want to focus and not get distracted by other students in the class.

I am glad that I signed up for Donorschoose and was really excited when my first project got funded. Without your generous donations, we will not be able to have these necessary classroom items.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. D.

My students have guided reading every day. The kidney table and the chairs will be a great addition to our classroom and will help the students feel comfortable during small group instruction. It has been difficult to do this in their regular seats because our classroom is very crowded, with limited tables and chairs. The guided reading area will allow me to work with students and help them develop skills that they can use independently during reading. Also, the students will use the seat cushions to sit on the floor during lessons. The foam mat that I currently have is not big enough to fit all 31 students.
