My students are very diverse. They all come from different family backgrounds. Many parents want the best for their children but don't all have the means to do so. Our school's state assessment data shows that the economical disadvantaged group of students have higher failing rates each year. Our data also shows that our school was weak in the area of comprehension of nonfiction texts.
