Funded Oct 25, 2019We have spent many months, and school years, with speakers that break, or cords that break and cause interference. This directly impacts the learning of students because we have to stop what we are doing to address this issue. While addressing the issue, the results is either students being distracted or we are just not able to continue.
This new wireless speaker has been an amazing sound tool for our classroom. It pairs seamlessly to all of our devices and has a crystal clear sound quality that fills the entire room.
We cannot thank you enough for your kindness! Our class thanks you!”

Mrs. Bowman
Wireless Learning
Funded Oct 1, 2019Our wireless headphones have been an amazing addition to our classroom! We were using headphones that were a few years old, and would experience daily problems with the auxiliary cord becoming lose. Students would quickly become frustrated as the continued problems would disrupt their learning and just cause and overall negative tone.
Because of your support, all students have wireless headphones! The pure excitement that filled the room when they opened up their Amazon box was priceless. They are so excited about these beautiful headphones and there is a sense of pride that comes with owning them for the students.
Thank you again for our kindness and support in our classroom. You helped us solve a problem in our classroom!”

Funded Apr 8, 2019We cannot thank you enough for your kind donation of this Apple TV to our classroom. So far, it has provided many advantages for our learning.
We are able to display students work live, give live feedback, help each other with problems and expand on the work we have done.
Students have been most excited to display their work, and describe their steps and thoughts behind what they have done.
Often, students can be shy about having their work displayed, or having to walk over to use a document camera that never has the best quality. This has allowed those students to feel more confident and comfortable sharing, with high quality and clarity.”

Funded Sep 23, 2018Thanks to your generosity, our classroom experience has come alive this year! We have been able to take everyday lessons and bring them to life with game based activities that have shown not only to be engaging for students, but have helped them retain information. The buzzers allow for an atmosphere where students are chomping at the bit to participate and hit that buttons, the spinning wheel adds a fun dynamic, and the laptop allows for game based online platforms to be displayed for all to see and participate it. The computer also allows students, as well as myself, to create our own games through different online platforms.
We are a school that focus on inquiry based learning, and usual results in some type of student created project. Incorporating these items into our everyday learning has been the most exciting part. Students want to use the whenever possible and look forward to review games, or class quizzes and trivia that we create.
Many of our students spend a lot of time playing games online, on TV, and on their phones. This has always been hard to combat because their minds are on their video games during class. This technology has defeated that problem since their classroom has turned into a game of sorts.
Again, thank you! We are so full of appreciation, and have used these items throughout the entire year, and they will be used for years to come.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bowman
Calling All Scientist, Artist & Engineers!
Funded Oct 5, 2017First, we would like to apologize for the delay in this "Thank You" package, however, your donations were part of a large 12 week project that we worked on for our Exhibition Night on March 23rd! We studied Kinetic Art and Revolutions through the lens of Physics, and the resources you provided were essential in the investigation and creation of learning. We started our journey with a trip to "Kinesthesia" art exhibit in Palm Springs, where students observed and became inspired by the physics behind the different art pieces. From here, we constructed the models that you donated so students could become familiar with some of the mechanics behind kinetic art. We continued with investigations into Physics and applying those "literal" meanings, of the terminology, in a figurative way, when we investigated different revolutions. Part of their final products was created an art piece that moves, and represents their revolution. Their self created kinetic art pieces had to show colliding forces that they either face in life, or they see in the world. Overall, it was an inspiring and comprehensive project that inspired deeper level learning, and you were a vital support our learning.
When I first told our classroom community that many of the supplies we would need to complete our journey were donated, they were blown away by the kindness the world has to offer. While they were working with the hands on products, they would often say how amazing it was that someone who doesn't even know them would support them. And finally, when our project came to an end, they wondered if the generous people who supported them would ever know what they created. I did share with them that a thank you package would be sent, with some pictures, however, it wouldn't reflect all of the aspects of their project.
The next steps of the donations were received is to explore through the science and creativity behind welding. We have arranged for an expert to facilitate safety instructions, and one on one learning. They are excited to learn a new skill and continue to create. In addition, they have created works of art that will forever be a memory for them.”

Mrs. Bowman
Be Calm, Inspire Others and Learn!
Funded Oct 24, 2016Thank you, thank you, thank you! We were blown away by your generosity and kindness. When we put this project together, we had hopes that it would get funded, but certainly weren't counting on it, and certainly not so quickly. Some time has passed since we received our products, and we have made great use out of them.
At Innovations Academy, we believe in Project Based and Inquiry Based learning. Your donations have allowed us to explore many different avenues. While reading A Monster Calls, student were intrigued to learn about plants that heal and how they are used for medicinal purposes. This also tied into our project of eating locally, and organically. The burners and pots and pans also helped us reinforce eating locally, creating recipes, reinforcing math and science, by giving us an opportunity to cook and bake things together.
We also practice Mindfulness and being aware of our thoughts and actions. The essential oils, diffuser and calming coloring activity help keep a calm environment, as well as help students focus. Using these in conjunction with focus activities, mindful breathing and focused learning, has helped us greatly.
Again, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bowman
