  • Fighting Hunger With Comfort & Learning

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

What a wonderful way to start the new year! I am so grateful for this wonderful gift. My students will be surprised to see that we now have a snack basket, facial tissues, with additional handsoap and lotion! It is such a relief to know that we have access to snacks for those who are hungry within arms reach at any time if the day. We also have play money to make learning about money engaging. This very generous gift will make our lives much easier and comfortable in our classroom. Thank you again.”

  • Socially Distanced Learning

    Funded Dec 22, 2020

Sorry for the delay but just wanted to say thanks sooooo much for your generous donations. This school year was unique in a lot of ways but with grit and tenacity we persevered and are almost at the finish line. In preparation for an extremely intimidating and scary school year, we were in need of protective gear, and other organizational supplies to make sure we adhered to the guidelines of the CDC.

The personal seat pockets and cart you helped to purchase helped to keep all of the students supplies separated and easy to access. We used to have a class supply of everything we needed and students would freely be able to get up and get them as they pleased, but now students don't have to get out of their seats!

Also, although students wear masks, the face shields donated offer that extra layer of protection and have allowed us to experience an entire school year without any Covid cases or spreads in our classroom. It's because of people like you that made this experience a bit more easier and comfortable, we appreciate you all!”

  • Little Learners Need Love...and Ink!

    Funded Jan 22, 2020

On behalf of my students & I, thank you all so much for your gracious donations toward our classroom supplies. With the ink and replacement pieces for our classroom color printer, we will be able to print beautiful pieces of our work, charts, and worksheets without streak marks. With the headphones, we’ll be able to read and answer questions independently in our small groups. We are super appreciative of your acts of kindness, we’re looking forward to sharing pictures for you all to see!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Let’s Spread Love & Knowledge, Not Germs

    Funded Jan 12, 2019

All of our materials are in and we couldn't be happier. New year, new classroom! The students were ecstatic from the moment they saw the packages arrive. As we opened each box, the classroom was filled with oohs and ahhs. They couldn't believe someone who hadn't known them, cared enough to send them all these things, at no cost. We have already began sanitizing the classroom and the aura is completely different. The students also admire their new classroom job position as the desk cleaner. Also, the hand sanitizer and Lysol makes sharing supplies so much safer. On behalf of my students and I, thanks so much for your contributions, it means so much to us!

P.S. We are launching a new project for our end of the school year field trip, please encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to donate to a class in need, a little help goes a long way and it takes a village!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Shhh! We're Reading and Learning!

    Funded Dec 24, 2017

Sorry for the delay but we wanted to send the biggest thank you to all who supported our project. We were so excited when the materials arrived, the children were surprised to see tennis balls used in such a way and everyone who visits loves the idea and takes note of it. Because of your donations, we were blessed with a heavy-duty stapler and chair socks for all 30 classroom chairs. We have been using them on a daily basis and it has increased the learning activity in our classroom. The chair socks allow the chairs to move around the classroom with ease; quietly and without scraping the floors. Before the chair socks came, we dreaded group work and other classroom transitions because of the noise the chairs caused by moving from place to place. We have been using the heavy-duty stapler often as well to create learning materials like work packets, books, and leveled sight word pamphlets which was impossible to do with a standard stapler. Your small efforts went a long way and we couldn't express our gratitude enough for you taking the time and funds to care for our class in Brownsville, Brooklyn.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Colorful Learning

    Funded Sep 1, 2017

Thanks again for your donations towards our wireless color printer. We have been using it nearly on a daily basis and it has been a great help in our teaching and learning practices. We have used the printer to make educational posters, color coded grouping sheets, data analysis sheets, reading books and worksheets, to beautify our students' work, to make "brag tags" as a reward for our students, and much more. This letter isn't enough to express our appreciation and gratefulness but we had to let you know how much of a blessing it has been for us. On behalf of my students and I, you rock! Continue to make a difference any way you can, it takes a village!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

  • Reading Children Matter!

    Funded Sep 29, 2016

Thank you so much for the leveled books, the rug, and the reading pillow! Now we have a classroom with a designated library/reading area that the kids use daily and they love it! The leveled books allow them to read books on their individual levels, the rug allows them to sit comfortably on the floor, and the reading pillow allows students who wish to lay and read, with some back support. It has been a blessing and we appreciate you thinking of making learning fun and accessible with your generous donation! May you be forever blessed!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mason

I have a great group of students with special needs that LOVE to learn. They are all attending this public community school in an effort to increase their academic skills and potentially be moved into a general education classroom but there are many external factors that distract their learning. Not only is the community they live in suffering from poverty, but it is also crime-ridden. I want to provide my students with the most welcoming learning environment conducive to learning. One that takes them away from what goes on outside of the school and pulls them closer to a greater education.
