Mindful Learning Space
Funded Sep 10, 2024The mindfulness and learning materials have created a calmer, more focused space where my students can truly relax. When my students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless. They were genuinely excited and curious, and it immediately sparked a sense of pride. The mindfulness resources, in particular, gave them a space to center themselves before diving into lessons, helping them feel more present and ready to learn.
Thanks to your generosity, we're now able to incorporate even more hands-on experiences and thoughtful reflection to allow students to regulate their emotions and return to class. The resources you provided are playing a crucial role in helping my students develop skills that go beyond just academics—they're learning patience, empathy, and how to manage their emotions, all while gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I can't thank you enough for your support. You've made a lasting impact on Los Cerros, and we're excited to continue growing with these new tools. I will be sure to keep you updated on our progress and share more of our learning journey as we move forward.”

Guided Meditation Promotes Focus, Stress Reduction, and Overall Well-being.
Funded Mar 30, 2024Overall, students typically describe guided meditation as a valuable tool for managing stress, improving focus, and enhancing their overall emotional and physical well-being. They often appreciate the practical benefits of feeling more centered and balanced in their daily lives. An added bonus is that students now have very little time to do "nothing". It can also be a way of starting to teach them practice self care.
Some quotes from students who have participated in guided meditation:
"I feel a lot calmer after meditation. It's like all my worries just float away for a while."
"Meditation really helps me feel less stressed. It's like hitting the pause button on everything that's stressing me out."
"My body feels more relaxed and less tense. It's nice to feel that way, especially after a busy day."
Students report all positive outcomes from guided meditation and wish we offered it more than once a week!”

Empowering Expression: Providing Blank Journals for Middle Schoolers' Emotional Well-Being
Funded Mar 29, 2024I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of journals to LCMS. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have made a significant impact on our students' learning journey.
By providing these journals, you have not only supplied a practical tool for academic expression but also fostered creativity, reflection, and self-discovery among our young minds. Your contribution enables our students to explore their thoughts, ideas, and emotions in a safe and supportive environment, empowering them to grow both academically and personally.
Your commitment to education and the well-being of our students is truly commendable. Your generosity serves as an inspiration to us all and reminds us of the importance of community support in nurturing the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. Your donation will leave a lasting impression on LCMS, and I am deeply grateful for your support.”

Stressbusters 101!
Funded Mar 27, 2018It is so rare that our students have downtime. Time to decompress and be present. Time to not worry about intruder alerts or lock down drills, or to feel the burden of homework and tests. There are no bells and no competition. Students can be free of worry and simply relax. When they walk into our guided meditation class, they can do absolutely nothing for 27 minutes! Calmness surrounds the students the minute they enter the classroom with beautiful yoga mats, peaceful music, and dimly lit candles. Finally, they are able to rest and be still. Namaste”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple and one other donor."What Do I Want To Be -Career Fair"
Funded Mar 13, 2017In order for all students to be college and career ready, our annual Career Fair is critical. Often times, seeing exciting possibilities connects the world of work to what they are learning on a daily basis. An 8th grade student who historically had not shown much interest or progress in academics, was able to sit with one of our Career Fair participants (geologist) and name every rock sample! If even one student identifies his/her passion as a result of our Career Fair, it's been successful!!”

Chromebooks for Support & Intervention
Funded Dec 2, 2015I am writing to thank you from the bottom of my heart and for making an amazing difference to our students. As a school counselor I work in academic, social/emotional and career domains, sadly with no budget. You can see from the photos that the chrome books allow me to: help students who are injured and can't write while in class; support students in our one on one peer tutoring program; and provide in classroom lessons surrounding digital citizenship, high school and beyond, and our "words matter" anti-bullying campaign. They also allow me to be mobile while taking roll and provide staff development on mental health and/or child abuse reporting. Thank you once again for allowing me to provide equal access for our students, and remove barriers that could prevent them from learning.”
